December 2016 PAGE 1 December Virtue Principals Message Dear Parents/Guardians: As we enter the season of Advent to pre- pare our hearts for the birth of Jesus, it is rather suitable that this months virtue is CHARITY. Many of us are already en- gaging in the mad rush to purchase gifts to put under the tree on the 25th, but let us be mindful of the fact that charity is not always about giving material things. Our quote for the month is Where chari- ty and love are, God is there. As St. Thomas Aquinas described it Charity is friendship first with God and secondly with all who belong to God." (2a2ae, 25,4). This month at St. Maurice we invite our families to celebrate Christmas with us on December 21st at 1pm during our Prima- ry Christmas Concert. Our primary and junior classes will sing and bring cheer. Santa will visit our school on December 9th to take pictures with our students. And there is our school Christmas Dance- a-thon and barbecue on December 16th organized by our Parent Council. There are many exciting events in December. Over the next few weeks and throughout the year, we will continue to support vari- ous charities. We ask you to continue to support Me to We and this month please send non-perishable food items and gifts to support needy families in our commu- nity. Martin from the Lions Club is or- ganizing the delivery of food and gifts on December 20th. We thank Martin and we thank you for helping others.
