TREES

"And all the trees of the field shall know that I, the Lord, bring low the high

tree, lift high the lowly tree, wither up the green tree, and make the

withered tree bloom." —Ezekiel 17:24

The Bible begins with the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good

and evil (Gn 2:9). It ends with the trees of life on the banks of the river of life

-giving waters in heaven (Rv 22:1-2). Ezekiel described the Messianic

kingdom as a majestic cedar tree on a high mountain (Ez 17:22-23). In

contrast, Jesus described His kingdom in a much less impressive way as be-

ing like a mustard tree or shrub (Mk 4:32). Finally, the early Church referred

to Jesus' cross as a tree (see Acts 13:29).

The cross is the ultimate tree of life bridging Genesis to Revelation, the

beginning to the end, earth to heaven, and humanity to God. The tree of the

cross is the fulfillment of the Messianic prophecies. It is the means of

establishing God's kingdom on earth

as it is in heaven. It is the way to enter

the kingdom of heaven.

Prayer: Father, may the sight of a tree

make me think with gratitude of Your

Son's cross.

Promise: "We walk by faith, not by

sight." —2 Cor 5:7

Praise: Praise You Jesus, our Life, Love,

and risen Lord God. You are "the

Author of Life" (Acts 3:15). We rejoice

in You!

Remember the Sabbath We all know that “keeping the Sabbath holy” is the

third commandment. That being said, keeping it holy

means far more than just attending Mass … that’s the

minimum. Do everything you can to recapture your

Sabbath. Make it a day of rest, not of tasks. Enter

into the day, into family time and into true rest and

communion with God and one another. The more we

begin to set aside the entire day, the more our lives

become balanced and the more we will be able to

truly enter into the sacramental embrace of God. Pray

with Exodus 20:8.

Remember not to come to Mass

empty-handed This doesn’t mean to bring your wallet … father

wouldn’t like that, either. No, it means to arrive at

Mass with intentionality and with intentions! Know

who and what you are going to offer up to the Lord in

prayer and encourage your teens to have someone/

something as an intention, as well.

Pray with 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.

¡No, significa llegar a Misa

con intencionalidad y con intenciones! Sepa quién y

qué va a ofrecer al Señor en oración y anime a sus

adolescentes a tener a alguien / algo como una

intención, también.

Ora con 1 Tesalonicenses 5: 16-18.

The Nativity of John the Baptist

June 24, 2018

When Jesus came to

him to be baptized,

John recognized him

and said, "It is I who

need baptism from

you." Jesus told John

to baptize Him

anyway, which he

did, whereupon the

heavens opened, and

the Spirit of God was seen like a dove. The voice of

God spoke, saying, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I

am well pleased."

Collection Envelope Request...

The collection envelopes are a convenient way to make

your donations and support your parish. In an effort to

help the Money Counters and the Data Entry Volunteers,

it is helpful to use just ONE envelope to put your donation

in rather than multiple envelopes.

We often find multiple envelopes from the same family,

collected at the same mass, or sent in by mail.

By using 1 envelope for multiple contributions, this will

save the volunteers time and provide more accuracy to

give you the credit you deserve.

We are thankful for your

understanding and support!

GETTING INVOLVED: MINISTRY HIGHLIGHTS

Charismatic Prayer Group The Charismatic Prayer Group comes together to

pray, read Gods Word, and encourage one another as we grow in God’s Love.

We meet on Tuesday evenings in the Chapel at 7:00pm, and hope you will come join us.

This group has been meeting for a number of years, we pray for those in need and find spiritual growth through song and prayer.

Once a year we sponsor a 7 week “Life in the Spirit” program, where each week a different guest speaker

addresses a different topic that is then open for discussion in small groups. These sessions are life

changing in many ways.

If you would like more information, please contact Jack Peletier 954-467-8228 or

Anna Hadley 954-967-9533

Come Experience a Different Way to Pray!

Bible Studies We are using Structured Bible Studies from

Ascension Press, with featured Video presentations by experts on the topics. There are lively small-group

discussions, guided by leader materials and you can attend with or without purchasing the workbook.

We meet on Monday’s at 7:00pm in the Social Hall. We also have a Tuesday morning workshop at 10:00am that is self-directed where you can come to the office, and select a study from a large selection of topics. Some topics are 1

hour while others can be several weeks. You work at your own pace on these studies, so bring a friend and enjoy a

cup of coffee with God and the Bible. Our Goal is to provide an easy way to read and understand

the Bible that many of us find so difficult.

This ministry is open to everyone who has a desire to learn, share and grow together in God’s love.

The Bible is a Library of books that tell the story of Salvation, we hope you will stop by and join us….
