Hi everyone.
One week to go until the winter holidays. In these last weeks of school it is a time for finishing up on work and some special school activities. Last Friday we had our buddy day. Students worked with Mrs Nunn on some buddy activities. Students enjoyed bringing their teddy bears to school.
This week students have been busily working on their ITime day presentations. Students are researching about the first fleet, learning about convict life and early settlement life. They will be presenting these to the class today.
STOMP a dance academy came to our school for a preview into what they can offer. The classes had a 30 minute session. It was so energetic and all students could complete the moves.
Tomorrow students will go to Tyrrell for Winter Sports competing in hockey, netball and football.
Mrs Wight 4,5,6 Classroom Teacher
Hi everybody! It is hard to believe we are nearly on to our last week of school! Last week at assembly we congratulated our Student of the Week Oscar Conlan. Oscar received his award for the resilience he showed when he had a broken arm. Also congratulations to the Reading Award recipients; Ryder Newick, Zander Wight, Jack Hodgson, and Oscar and Ewan Conlan.
This fortnight we have had a big focus on Inquiry. Our Inquiry topic for the term was learning about how family life and the place we live has changed over time.
This week we have been practicing our interviewing skills. We have interviewed Mrs. Nunn, Mrs. Rogers, Mrs. Alday and we had a special visit from my Dad (Shane Ryan).
On Monday 26th Prep/1 will be traveling to the Pioneer Settlement for the day. Permission forms and payment need to be returned by tomorrow.
Have a fantastic Week
Miss Ryan
At last weeks assembly the grade 2/3s presented a piece of their poetry writing speaking confidently and clearly. The effort they have all put into poetry has been outstanding.
On Monday our class had a special visitor who taught us how to write a more complex sentence based on a book about a travelling chicken. We have been practicing to write more in depth sentences in English and then relay it to our work when writing stories.
In Mathematics the Grade 2’s have been looking at spelling larger numbers and placing appropriate numbers on number lines. Our Grade 3’s have been focusing on their multiplication strate-gies and applying these quickly.
In Religion our students have been focusing on the Eucharist and are enjoying a shared lunch today based around communication and the importance the Bible puts on feasts.
Tomorrow is winter sports day so wear your white sports top, sports shorts, shoes and drink bottles.
One week to go!!! Signing out
