Third Sunday of Advent
St. Mary’s Challenge
for December
Let’s think Confession! We have now examined our conscience, studied the prayers, learned what to do in the Confessional. The only step left is to go to Confession! Make a night of it. Reward yourself with a dinner out or a movie or some-thing that will motivate you!!
Confession times around town: St. Mary’s Foxboro - Dec. 14, 7pm-8pm; and Saturdays 2:45-3:45. St. Mary’s Mansfield - Saturdays 3;00-3:45 and 5:00-5:20; and Dec. 18, 6:30. Blessed Sacrament Walpole - Saturdays 3:00-3:45. La Salette Shrine, Attleboro - During the Festival of Lights, daily 1:00-5:00.
Thank you to the Knights of Columbus for supporting our December Challenge! The Knights have supplied us with the Confessional pamphlets being handed out after all the Masses this weekend...
December 11 ~ Third Sunday of Advent The letter of Saint James – four little verses packed with meaning. Patient or patience appears four times. Do you think he’s trying to tell us something? We live in an instant world. The average You Tube video is four minutes, 20 seconds – and that’s too long for some viewers. Advent is a time to put the brakes on – slow down, breathe. The world will tell us that time is running out – buy, buy, buy. Now! The Church tells us that Jesus will come whether the stockings are filled or not. Patience. This week, try to build in some quiet time – really. You can do it. Just five minutes – a bit longer than a TV commercial or You Tube video. Take the time to remember a loved one in prayer. Now that’s a gift – for the giver and recipient.
Christmas Flowers in memory of loved ones. Anyone who wishes may make a donation to-ward the cost of the Christmas Flowers in memory of their beloved deceased. Please place your offering in an envelope marked “Christmas Flowers” and include the names of those to be remembered. Place your envelope in the collection basket or through the mail slot at the Rectory.
Come celebrate an Advent Holy Hour with us on Wednesday, December 14; 7:00pm-8:00pm. Join us for a Gospel
reading, a short reflection and Confessions.
