May 10, 2015 6th Sunday of Easter “This is my commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends” - JOHN 15:12-13 Do you love Jesus? Do you consider Him your friend? Jesus says that if we love Him we should be willing to offer whatever we have to Him, not because we want praise and glory, but simply because we love Him.
Our sympathy to the families of
Terry Loeffler, brother of Karen Carpenter,
Dick Blawat, father of Susan Gryskiewicz, and
James Poole, brother of Bill Poole.
May they rest in the love and peace of Christ.

A painter and musician happened
upon a spray-painted image of a cross
on a walk along a Mexican road. He
took a picture of what he saw: a
haunting, rough, wild, desolate, but
ultimately hopeful image of this universal Christian sym-
bol. The man with the camera was simply out on a hike,
but he has the discerning eye of an artist, so he sees
things others might not. It is a talent cultivated over
years of practice and a reminder to all of us to pay atten-
tion—for even the stones cry out the glory of God (cf.
Luke: 19-40). Insights and sparks of enlightenment will
come to us particularly through spiritual practice and
prayer, and in those moments we will know above all
else who we are and where we are being called.

A Question of Faith for the Week
Sixth Sunday of Easter - Seeing God
“Almighty ever-living God, who restore us to eter-nal life in the Resurrection of Christ, increase in us, we pray, the fruits of this paschal Sacrament and pour into our hearts the strength of this saving food...” (Prayer after Communion)
The Prayer is inspired by Luke 22:19; Jesus’ words,
“This is my body, which will be given for you; do this
in memory of me” . We pray that as bread and wine
are transformed into Holy Food, our hearts may be set
afire to recognize the face of God. Will I find Christ in
the people and in the places in which I live?
Coffee and Rolls will be served after Mass
on Sunday May 10. Sponsored by the KCs.
Spring Cleaning? A rummage sale is planned for June 12 & 13 here at St.
Mary’s. If you have items or questions please contact
Nancy Hazelton at 386-2987.
