FIFTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME, FEBRUARY 10 2019 Today’s Reflection: “Cristo, Nuestra Luz
Es cierto que, cuando uno se pone a la luz uno ve mucho
mejor los puntos oscuros, el polvo, la suciedad. Es lo que
decía santa Teresa, lo negro cerca de lo negro aun parece
mas negro; y lo blanco cerca de lo blanco, aun mas blanco.
Es decir, al situarse cerca de la luz de Dios, uno no puede
sino ver la propia imperfección, la propia limitación y el
pecado. Pero es la gracia, como una llama, la que lo
purifica todo y todo lo llena de la fuerza y la presencia de
Dios. Y entonces si se puede decir con confianza, “Heme
aquí, envíame.” Lo cual es como decir, “Heme aquí, usa
mi cuerpo y mi mente, pero ven conmigo.”
Es la misma actitud de los pescadores. Nadie como ellos
podría conocer el negocio de la pesca. Y sin embargo,
parecían haber fracasado. Toda la noche bregando y no
han capturado nada. La única confianza y seguridad que
pueden tener ahora es la Palabra de Jesús. Y la Palabra
de Jesús les da la fuerza para la pesca. Lanza tus redes de
nuevo y tendrás pesca en abundancia.

Our food pantry has returned to St. Mary’s Church premises,
254 2nd Street, and will continue from there twice a month on
the 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month. Please take note of that
and pass the news to our recipients. Your donations to the food
pantry are welcome.
