P.S. Don’t forget the 40 days of fasting, prayer and almsgiving begins on Ash Wednesday, March 6, with Liturgy of the Word with communion and ashes services at 7:30am in both parishes and Mass in Winneconne at 4:30pm and Mass in Omro at 6:30pm.

THANK YOU++THANK YOU++THANK YOU

Special thanks to Omro’s Parish Council for organizing our 4th Annual “Bingo Bash” in Omro last weekend! It was a wonderful parish event and over 70 people were present to enjoy lunch together and lots of Bingo!.

I’ve heard so many positive and affirming comments about our “Bingo Bash” and our “Winter Mingle” events this year. We can be very proud of our Parish Councils who work so hard planning and hosting these two activities along with many other projects for our parish. They are always so eager to find creative ways for our parishioners to become more engaged and involved in our parish.

Do you have any suggestions for our Parish Councils as they continue to plan for the future? How can we all continue to know each other and grow together as Missionary Disciples? Sr. Pam

The Discipleship Process leads to encountering Jesus more deeply and when this

happens we become Grateful Stewards who Share, Serve, and Pray with joyful hearts.

Gospel: Luke 6:27-38

In today’s Gospel, Jesus is not condemning those who possess more than others, but is describing our responsibility to each other. Jesus begins by saying, “To you who hear.” As Catholics Christians, let us listen to Jesus. He is telling us, who have food, shelter, clean clothes, and so many other blessings, not to turn away from those who challenge us, but instead he tells us to, “Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you”(6:27-28). When we do these things Jesus continues, “Give, and gifts will be given back to you.” We who enjoy opportunities and privileges must see them as gifts to be shared, not possessions we guard. Our rewards on earth— our wealth, our “stuff”, our joys — will only become rewards in heaven if we share them now and do so with love and gratitude. As good stewards, we must be willing to relinquish control of them, remembering that what we have is only by the grace of God in the first place. How will you respond this week to what you hear in today’s Gospel?

—Be Grateful, Pray, Serve, Share—

Direct Thrivent Choice Dollars®

by March 31

Eligible Thrivent Financial members who have available Choice Dollars® have until March 31, 2019, to direct them. Don’t miss this opportunity to recommend that Thrivent Financial provide outreach funding to St. Mary Church. Go to Thrivent.com/thriventchoice to learn more. Or call 800-847-4836 and say “Thrivent Choice” after the prompt.

Will you spend one hour with Jesus?

If Jesus invited you to sit down with him for an hour to talk, wouldn’t you jump at the opportunity? We have that opportunity every single day. Eucharistic Adoration is spending time in the presence of Christ in the Eucharist.

The Divine Mercy Adoration Chapel is a citywide perpetual adoration chapel open 24/7 year-round. While it is located at Most Blessed Sacrament’s St. Mary site, the Adoration Chapel belongs to ALL of our parishes and our Oshkosh community. Visitors to the chapel can spend their time with Jesus any way they want. You may want to bring your own prayer books or use the books in the chapel, read the Bible, pray the rosary, or just sit and relax and enjoy the peace that comes from simply being in the presence of God. You may feel a bit intimidated visiting for the first time or struggle to establish a prayer life. Don’t let this discourage you. The mere fact that you take time out of your day to spend an hour with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament pleases Him very much and is in itself a prayer of great faith. The Divine Mercy Adoration Chapel is located at 605 Merritt Avenue in Oshkosh. To learn more about visiting the chapel or to receive an access code, contact (920) 310-2112, or visit https://mbsoshkosh.com/adoration-chapel. For a list of available hours, visit divinemercy3.weadorehim.com. Remember, Perpetual Adoration isn’t just a commitment for an hour, a week or even a year. It is an ongoing, lasting, and permanent gift of our faith.

“Every day we have a decision to make:

Will I rise up and follow Jesus today?

The choice is ours.” John Michael Talbot
