At St Margaret Ward our Catholic life mirrors the teaching of StJean Baptiste de la Salle that we are constantly in the presence ofGod. We strive to be aware of God’s presence in ourselves, inothers and in the whole of creation. Hence, our daily prayer,‘Let us Remember we are in the Presence of God’.

Every day we celebrate the uniqueness of all ouryoung people and support them in their journey offaith. We nurture our students by building strongrelationships based on trust and mutual respect.

There are daily opportunities for prayer, weekly assembliesand our chaplaincy team lead the school in liturgicalcelebrations, including our very special annual outdoormass to honour St Margaret Ward in the summer term.

Expectations are high and from the moment astudent joins us, he or she is encouraged to achieveto the highest possible standard. All children aresupported and challenged in their learning acrossthe whole curriculum, no matter what theirparticular ability. Everyone in the Academy is

committed to excellent teaching and todeveloping a range of courses that isbroad, balanced, engaging and suitableto the individual needs of every child sothat all students are well prepared forthe next stage of education and for theeventual world of employment.

We are always very proud of our youngpeople and year on year we celebratetheir excellent achievement which

prepares them for future success.

Our exciting curriculum extends to activitiesbeyond the classroom and outside of thenormal school day. We offer all students thechance to participate in extra-curricular lunchtime and after-school clubs, includinga wide range of sporting activities andopportunities within the arts.

Educational visits are a regular and valuableaspect of our curriculum offer, providingstudents with a range of experiences thatenhance their academic, sporting andartistic development. Our Catholic life isalso enriched with opportunities to takepart in retreats, charity events, and anannual sixth form pilgrimage to Lourdes.

We also offer a number of extendedservices at either end of the day to helpand support students with their learning.

At the end of Year 11, manyof our students move on to our

Trinity Sixth Form where, thanks toa collaborative arrangement with StThomas More Catholic Academy andSt John Fisher Catholic College, theyhave access to a wide range of A Levelcourses.

Through excellent teaching, bespokeguidance and individual tutoring themajority of our senior students moveon to study at some of the country’sbest universities.
