Peace and good! As we celebrate the Jubilee of Mercy, let us continue to pause to reflect upon God’s gift of mercy. What exactly is mercy? Pope Francis offers the following insights and reflections on the virtue of mercy.

Jesus' attitude is striking: we do not hear the words of scorn, we do not hear words of condemnation, but only words of love, of mercy, which are an invitation to conversation. "Neither do I condemn you; go, and do not sin again." Ah! Brothers and Sisters, God's face is the face of a merciful father who is always patient. Have you thought about God's patience, the patience He has with each one of us? That is His mercy. He always has patience, patience with us, He understands us, He waits for us, He does not tire of forgiving us if we are able to return to Him with a contrite heart. "Great is God's mercy," says the Psalm. (Angelus, March 17, 2013)

Together let us pray to the Virgin Mary that she helps us ... to walk in faith and charity, ever trusting in the Lord's mercy; He always awaits us, loves us, has pardoned us with His Blood and pardons us every time we go to Him to ask His forgiveness. The Divine Mercy message is one we can call to mind simply by remembering ABC:

A – Ask for His Mercy God wants us to approach Him in prayer constantly, repenting of our sins and asking Him to pour His mercy out upon us and upon the whole world.

B – Be merciful God wants us to receive His mercy and let it flow through us to others. He wants us to extend love and forgiveness to others just as He does to us.

C – Completely trust in Jesus God wants us to know that the graces of His mercy are dependent upon our trust. The more we trust in Jesus, the more we will receive. (http://www.thedivinemercy.org)

May we have the courage to “Ask for His Mercy; Be merciful; and Completely trust in Jesus!”

Eucharistic Adoration - We invite you to join us every Wednesday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m., for Eu-charistic Adoration to pray before the Blessed Sac-rament. Prayerfully consider taking advantage of spending time in prayer in the presence of our Eucharistic Lord.

Religious Education (CCD) Class Registration The Office of Religious Education is now accepting registrations for rising Preschool children through Adults for those who wish to learn (more) about the Catholic Faith as well as those who need to prepare to receive sacraments (Baptism, Confirmation, and/or First Holy Communion). Catechists (teachers) and Assistant Catechists Needed St. Joseph Religious Education (CCD) is preparing for the 2016-2017 school year. Textbooks and supplies will be ordered in anticipation for the upcoming 600 students who will be attending our parish’s Catechism classes. However there is just one thing still missing – YOU. Please consider volunteer teaching or assisting for Religious Education classes starting this September and ending in May of next year. As our continuing support for those in need in our dio-cese during this year of Mer-cy, The Men’s Society and the Knights of Columbus will be collecting food to support the St. Lucy Project which distributes food for families in need throughout

the Diocese of Arlington. The Food collection will take place this weekend, July 30-31 at all masses. The St. Lucy Truck will be on site to receive your donations of non-perishable food to help the hungry in our diocese
