    This Week At St. John

    Sunday 9:00 am Pentecost Sunday

    Tuesday 5:00 pm Mass

    Sunday 9:00 am Trinity Sunday

Mass At Church: Just a reminder, there is NO OBLIGATION to attend Mass on Sunday until further notice. If you have any doubt about coming to church you may need to continue praying at home or you may want to consider coming on Tuesday. We ask that everyone wear a face mask; sit in designated pews and use hand sanitizer upon entering the church.

Mother of the Church: Tomorrow, the Monday after Pentecost, the Church celebrates the Feast of Mary as Mother of the Church. On the cross Jesus says, “Behold, your Son. Behold, your mother”. O happy Virgin, you gave birth to the Lord; O blessed mother of the Church, you warm our hearts with the Spirit of your Son Jesus Christ. Let Us Pray: O God, Father of mercies, whose Only Begotten Son, as he hung upon the Cross, chose the Blessed Virgin Mary, his Mother, to be our Mother also, grant, we pray, that with her loving help your Church may be more fruitful day by day and, exulting in the holiness of her children, may draw to her embrace all the fami-lies of the peoples. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Welcome: We would like to congratulate Steven Kenney (wife Rosemary) who was received into full communion with the Catholic Church last Tuesday. He celebrated the Sacraments of Confirmation and Holy Communion.

  • An Act of Spiritual Communion: My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I de-sire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

Come Holy Spirit: Today we celebrate Pente-cost! The Holy Spirit gave the disciples the strength to fulfill their commission to spread the Good News of Jesus. The Feast of Pentecost marks the Birthday of the Church. Today we are reborn as we resume having public Mass in Church. Let us pray, Come Holy Spirit, fill our hearts with the fire of your love.

The Body of Christ: Christ has no body now on earth but yours, no hands but yours, no feet but yours; yours are the eyes through which Christ's compassion looks out on the world, yours are the feet with which He is to go about doing good and yours are the hands with which He is to bless us now. - St. Teresa of Avila
