Opportunities for Life: Next weekend, January 13-14, is the special collection for Opportunities for Life. The OFL ministry is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week to offer confidential support and information to those with an untimely preg-nancy. Priest’s Convocation: I will be away this week, Monday-Thursday, January 15-18, attending the annual priest’s convocation at St. Meinrad, IN. Each year all the priests of the diocese gather with our bishop for continuing education.

Opportunities for Life Needs YOU!: A girl fac-ing a difficult decision regarding the life of her unborn baby needs YOU. A baby whose mom is thinking about abortion needs YOU. YOU can help her and her baby. Opportunities for Life is a ministry of the Kentucky Catholic Bishops serving abortion vulnerable men and women. Volunteers offer hope, compassion, options counseling and resources to callers who find the courage to seek help. Volunteers are needed to staff the 24 hour helpline from their homes. To learn more about OFL or to volunteer, call 888-496-3638.

Week of Prayer for Christian Unity: January 18-25 is the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. This week has been observed around the world for over 100 years by various Christian denom-inations. We pray that Jesus’ prayer, “that they may all be one” (John 17:21) will one day be fulfilled. Prayer for Christian Unity: Lord Jesus Christ, you call us together in faith and love. Breathe again the new life of your Holy Spirit among us that we may hear your holy Word, pray in your name, seek unity among Christians, and live more fully the faith we profess. All glory and honor be yours with the Father, and the Holy Spirit, forever and ever. Amen. –Catholic Household Blessings and Prayers Christian Unity Service: This year St. Joseph Parish will be hosting the Grayson County Prayer Service for Christian Unity. This will take place on Sunday, January 28, at 3:00 pm. I urge you to attend as we join together to prayer for greater visible unity in the Body of Christ. The more we are united with other Christians the better our witness to Jesus Christ.

Reading the New Testament in 2018: There are 260 chapters in the New Testament. If you read a-chapter-a-day, Monday—Friday for 52 weeks, you would read the whole New Testa-ment in one year. If you fall behind, you have Saturday and Sunday to catch up. Go ahead, give it a try. What a great way to keep Christ in our everyday lives!

Words from Pope Francis: Always know in your heart that God is by your side; he never abandons you! How marvelous it would be if, at the end of the day, each us could say: today I have preformed an act of charity toward others!

SEC Tickets Raffle: St. Paul’s School is having a raffle for 2 tickets to the SEC basketball tourna-ment. Tickets are $10. Call the school at 270242-7483 for more information.
