Having recently suffered from Covid 19, I found myself watching TV early in the mornings. Channel after channel of teleshopping, tempting me with mattresses, food slicers, all-in-one cookers, time saving electric mops, exercise machines, music players and a whole lot more. All of the adverts present the items as the best, value for money, can’t live without it product, and owning them will enrich your life beyond measure. I have fallen for it many times, succumbed to the temptation, spent the money and regretted it soon afterwards when the said items were a complete let down. It seems to me that life in general can follow this pattern. Family, friends, work, home life, relationships and lots of things in between promise so much happiness and opportunity but can fall well short of our expectations, leaving us feeling upset, annoyed and frustrated. Life in this world takes so much from us but gives back very little, especially when it is taking us for granted, messing with our feelings, taking our hard-earned money or eroding our freedoms. People easily get left behind in life’s scramble to better ourselves and can quickly be forgotten by those around. And people can suffer greatly because of greed, selfishness and boredom. I have many times felt irrelevant, redundant, tolerated only whilst useful, ugly, pathetic, an inconvenience, a burden, an embarrassment. This is how the world sees me, but God describes those who love him as ‘children of God’. “But to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God” (John 1: 12-13) And Jesus says things like “I will not leave you, nor forsake you”, and the Apostle Paul confirms “if we are faithless, He remains faithful”. God is unchanging and he does not break his promises. We can rely on him and know that he is with us whatever we are going through in life. Unlike us and our emotions, His love for us is not ever changing depending on mood or circumstance. Jesus never turns anyone away and He is reaching out to all of us, wherever we are in life. Turning to him was the best decision I have ever made. I hope that you will give Him a chance in your life. You won’t regret it. God bless! Lee

Hope For All!
