Let’s look at a few facts about youth and pornography. In 2016, a study by the Barna Group discovered among teens age 13-17

• 7% came across porn daily; 8% intentionally sought it out daily.

• 21% came across porn weekly; 18% sought it out weekly.

• 21% came across porn once or twice a month; 11% sought it out.

• In total, 57% of teens sought out porn at least monthly.

Fourth Sunday of Advent/Christmas December 23, 2018

Our Parish Councils for 2019-2020 With all the votes counted from our recent Pastoral Council elections, we proudly announce the newly elected and appointed members of our two parish councils: Pastoral Council Members: Ginny Berge, Kevin Butek, Steve Eder, Deb Klukas, David Loew, Terri Ruff, Candy Sarauer (Finance Council Liaison), Jean Schindler, Patty Zwiefelhofer Finance Council Members: Diane Boettcher, Ken Schmitt,

Dan Shakal, Brian Mitchell, Candy Sarauer, Terri Ruff (Pastoral Council Liaison)

The La Crosse diocesan document "On Consultation in the Parish" recommends that the Parish Pastoral Council have six to twelve members. Two-thirds of these are elected by parishioners and one-third are appointed by the pastor. They assist the pastor in the vision and guidance of the parish. This same diocesan document advises that the Parish Finance Council have two to six members, each of whom are appointed by the pastor. They help the pastor in managing the financial and structural condition of the church. Ideally, members on both councils serve two-year, twice-renewable terms. Please feel welcome to approach Father Feltes or any council members with your questions, suggestions, comments, or concerns regarding our parish. We offer special thanks to our retiring council members: Andy Shakal, Jim Willi, Randy Sarauer, Clayton Shakal, Mary Kay Fanetti, and David Blair. May God reward them for their past good counsel and generously donated time in service of Christ's work here in Cooks Valley. Renewing Our Hearts “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me.” Psalm 51:10 Ladies, don’t miss this special opportunity to renew and deepen your faith: Saturday, January 12, 2019; St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 1222 Main Street, Bloomer; 9:00-11:00 a.m. Come listen to Catholic speaker Cheri Bowe’s inspiring faith message, music with Mary Gladitsch, refreshments and fellowship.
