May 8, 2020,
Dear SJA Families, We have wonderful news! Please welcome the newest member of our SJA community, Victoria “Tori” Ann Smith! She arrived yesterday, May 7th, at 7:13PM, weighing in at 7 lbs 5.6 oz (21 in. long)! Warmest congratulations to third grade teacher, Mrs. Kathleen Smith, and her husband Ian on the birth of their daughter. I would like to share some exciting news regarding next year’s schedule. We will be going to a nine-45 minute period day (8AM-3:05PM). This extra period in the school day will allow SJA to once again offer two PE classes per week, a new STEM/Robotics class each week, and a new Study Skills class for middle school. We are constantly striving to improve the excellent education offered at St. Joan of Arc School. We plan to begin the 2020-21 school year on August 31st as we usually do. Contracts went out this week so that you can complete registration. Your prompt attention to this will allow us to adequately plan and order materials. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Maid [email protected] or myself. If you begin your payment plan in June, you may have up to 12 payments, in July up to 11 payments, or in August, up to 10 payments. I am attaching the Catholic Discount Form for you to forward to your parish for completion. Once we receive this by email, the discount will be applied to your FACTS account. SJA families should email the form for signature to the parish office [email protected] Returning students will also receive a $375 adjustment to FACTS as remediation. Thank you to those generous families who have donated their remediation back to those in need. Also attached are flyers for uniform purchase (Flynn & O’Hara) and a coupon for the required Buck shoes (grades 2-8). The uniform guidelines are attached. We are making arrangements for the end of this school year. We will have some scheduled times for parents and students to come by and pick up materials. We plan to have the calendar and handbook available at that time also. Unfortunately, there is sad news. Our Spanish teacher, Mrs. Minerva Rodriguez, has lost her mother this week. We pray for the repose of the soul of Natividad Rodriguez. Peace and all good,
Mrs. Bahr
