ST JAMESCHURCH, ISLINGTON N1 8PF December 17th 2017 ADVENT 3 Year B 17/45 WELCOME to everyone in Church today, especially those visiting for the first time. Please ask the nearest person to you in the pews if there is anything you need. There is a carpeted area in the south aisle for our smallest children. A full service booklet is available and the T-loop system works well. A collection of money is taken during Mass (see back page for giving by text). At the time of communion, please feel free to come forward to the front of Church - either to receive communion or a blessing. Jesus invites everyone, you too! Finally, do stay for a drink after Mass if you can and say hello before you leave. If you would like to keep in touch, please fill in a white Contact Card and well respond asap. Collect: God for whom we wait and watch; you sent John the Baptist to prepare for the coming of your Son: give us courage to speak the truth, a hunger for your justice, and grace to suffer for what is right, in union with Jesus Christ our Lord. I suspect you will find the second question harder than the first! Which leads us to consider the various influences on our own lives - and whether, had we lived in 1st century Palestine, we would have wandered into the desert to listen to John the Baptist? And what was his message anyway? SERVICE TIMES OVER CHRISTMAS Please take a look at the posters at the back of Church for details. The most crucial change is the combining of the 8am and 10am Masses into a said 9am Mass next Sunday morning - which also happens to be Christmas Eve!
