From the Pastor’s Desk “Why do you seek the living among the dead?”

Easter GospelThis is the day we are freed from death, darkness and fear. For 40 days we have searched for the assurance that there is a way out of that above place. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. It

is all we need to know. God has not abandoned us after His creative act. We have been given life and love. So in all the suffering and pain that enters our lives, we now realize these is more to life. Christ is truly risen - and thus we learn that we too can rise to new life.

Blessings to you and Easter Joy, Fr. John

ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES & PARENTS: Did you know that 80% of students stop practicing their faith at some point during college (from a recent NEWMAN CONNEC-TION internal study)? But together we can change this!

NEWMAN CONNECTION’S High School outreach program helps keep college students practicing their faith by connecting them to their local Catholic Campus Ministry at the College/Uni-versity or Trade School that they are attending.

When students sign up with NEWMAN CONNECTION, their information will automatically be sent to the Catholic Campus Ministry at the college/university/trade school of their choice. The Campus Ministry can then reach out to the students upon their arrival on Campus. This has shown great success in recent previous years.

There will be a Serra/Newman Connection representative pres-ent at the Parish Graduation brunch after the 10:00 a.m. Mass on Sunday, May 26,2019. If you will not be present at the Gradua-tion brunch, please contact Jim Shaw at: [email protected] with your (the student’s) name, name and location (city & state) of the school they will be attending in the Fall of this year. This way you will be invited to the activities that the local New-man Center/Catholic Campus Ministry has for incoming fresh-men students.

The Newman Connection is a service of the local Serra Club.To find out more, go to: newmanconnection.org
