“pray always” Luke 18:1
The corrupt and unjust judge granted the widows plea for an answer to her pleas. The widows persistence won the day. How much more will God who can’t be anything but just and merciful hear and answer all our pleas? So Jesus says “pray always and never become weary.” God is anxious to answer all our needs. Our prayers do not ascend to an empty sky but to a merciful and loving Father. How reassuring it is to realize that what underlies all reality is a Being filled with love and compassion. Just to pronounce that word, Father is so reassuring. Praying to the Father was essential for Jesus’ life and ministry. It was His anchor through the turmoil's of life and the source of constant joy. Through His prayer, He realized He was never alone. This is the God, Jesus wants us to dis-cover. Prayer is not time wasted but time gained. Perhaps at times we grow weary, like Moses whose “hands grew weary holding them up during the battle. It is then we need others to hold us up by their prayer for us. Our person-al prayers and their prayers for us Jesus as-sures us will enable us to have the better of the fight.” This is His promise, yet He wonders in the gospel, when He comes again will He find this faith on earth? God bless, Father Murray

“The goal of Catholic liturgy is to communicate a transcendent awareness of the Real Presence of Jesus Christ. Faith in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist demands great beauty, dignity, and reverence.”
All of us have the responsibility to bring beauty, reverence and dignity to our celebration of Mass. The Church directs us to do this in very simple and concrete ways: - to receive the Eucharist one must be in a state of grace, serious sin must be confessed before receiving Holy Communion. If married be married in a Valid marriage in the eyes of the Church. -fast from food at least one (1) hour before receiving Holy Communion, exceptions taking medication or other health issues. -bodily demeanor, gestures dress ought to convey respect as Christ becomes our guest. -a simple bow before receiving Holy Communion and responding Amen. -quite reflection when returning to the pew acknowledging Christ’s presence, words of praise and thanksgiving and petitioning the Lord to answer our many needs. Leaving Church after receiving is not appropriate. -to remember we are to become what we receive. How do we reflect the spirit of the Eucharist in our relationships, choices and decisions. -Be mindful of Christ's continuing presence in the tabernacle. If able genuflect entering and leaving Church or a simple bow is appropriate for those who cannot genuflect.
Reverence, dignity, beauty, simple ways we all can proclaim our faith in the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. Join us for our 2019 Advent Series on the Real Presence of the Eucharist

Eucharistic Adoration Our day of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is on Mondays 8:30am-5:00pm Many thanks for all your time spent in prayer and adoration before the Lord. No doubt your prayers will bring many favors and blessings to our parish
community. See our 40hrs Schedule October 20, 21 & 22nd 8:30am to 7:00pm Two people look at a piece of bread or a cup of wine and see bread or wine only-the quotidian, the physical thing itself, while another looks at the same two things and is shaken to the very core by the God-saturated reality brimming in the deepest self. And these ways of seeing come to make all the difference in one’s life, one’s thoughts, even in the way one comes to taste words. (Gerard Manley Hopkins)

Pope Francis, through the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, has issued instructions re-garding the burial of the deceased especially those who choose cremation. This instruction should help to maintain and recognize the human body as a living temple of Gods presence. Proper respect for the deceased and their remains must always be upheld. DO YOU KNOW YOUR TRIBUNAL?
The Tribunal is available to help people who have experienced divorce and who may wish to remarry in the Catholic Church. When a divorce occurs, the Catholic Church always seeks to balance two reali-ties. On one hand the durable bond of mar-riage. This is God’s law. On the other hand, the Church is concerned about the spiritual welfare of the people involved. Even though a Catholic wedding was celebrated,
perhaps there was some deficiency in the consent of the parties involved regarding intentions, understanding or ability? The annulment procedure addresses these cir-cumstances. If you are divorced and want to marry in the Church or remarried outside the Catholic Church, please tele-phone the Tribunal Office at 222 North l7th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103 (215) 587-3750

Prayer for the Return of Non-practicing Catholics O Good shepherd, You never cease to seek out the lost, to call home the stray, comfort the frightened, and to bind up the wounded. I ask you to bring all our fallen brothers and sisters back to the practice of Faith, and to remove all obstacles that prevent them from receiving your abundant mercy, which flows sacramentally through the heart of the Church. Make Your Power known the them today in every situation. Through the intercession of Mary, Mother of God, their Guardian Angels, their Patron Saints and the ever-prayerful St. Monica, may you pardon Their sins and unshackle them from whatever hinders their freedom to come Home. For You O Good Shepherd, have loved us to the end offered yourself to the Father for the salvation of all. Amen!
