MASS SCHEDULE
FOR JUNE & JULY For the months of June and July, St. Helen and
Immaculate Conception Parishes will have Regional
Masses for the weekday, 8:15 a.m. Mass.
Please keep the calendar found in this week’s
bulletin handy so you are able to plan your Mass at-
tendance during the summer months. (Please note
that we are still working to fill a couple dates in
July.)
CONGRATULATIONS TO
OUR NEWEST MEMBERS We would like to thank all of
our parish members who agreed to “go in the hat’ for
an opportunity to serve on our Parish Pastoral Coun-
cil. The following folks are the newest members of
our PPC:
Elizabeth Ater
Lee Bennett
Ron Connally
Ilsa Esteves
Reece Timbrook We look forward to the input that the five of
you, along with standing members of council, will be
able to provide our parish.
MEMORIAL DAY MASS REMEMBRANCE If you have family members or friends who died in service to our country and
would like their names read aloud at the flag pole service immediately following our Me-
morial Day Mass on Monday, May 27, please email the names to
[email protected] prior to Monday, May 27. Help with pronunciations
will be appreciated so that we can honor those dear to you appropriately.

HONOR THOSE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES
FOR OUR FREEDOM: JOIN US AT THE
MEMORIAL DAY MASS
Monday, May 27, at 9:00 a.m. Reception following Mass and “Taps”
and prayers at the flag pole
Members of Immaculate Conception and Ascension par-
ishes are with us, too! Remember, it’s not just a holiday!
ST. HELEN CHOIR TO PERFORM! The St. Helen's choir will join other local
choirs for the National Pastoral Musicians Annual
Choral Festival on Wednesday, May 22 at 7:00 pm
at Incarnation Church. This will be a wonderful
evening: listening to talented parish choirs, with the
combined choir closing out the evening with a couple
of classics: Ave Verum and the Hallelujah Chorus!
This concert is free and is always a very spe-
cial event. We hope you will join us.
HONORING OUR
BLESSED MOTHER Our school children hon-
ored the Blessed Mother
this past Monday at our
May Crowning, which was
held in church due to
damp, cool weather. Sec-
ond graders, many of
whom made their First
Communion two weekends ago, presented Mary with
pink carnations. Hearing the children sing the Marian
hymns so beautifully and pray the Hail Mary together
so faithfully was inspiring! A special thank you to
Deacon Ralph for presiding and to all the students
who helped in special ways!!

CATCH THE BUILDING SPIRIT Catch the Building Spirit is at it again for our 27th year of building a home for a family in need. We excit-
ed to get started with “Blitz Week” starting Memorial Day weekend and working through the next Friday May 31,
to have the house under roof. Then we take the summer to complete the home for Jeremy Evans and Tiffany
Reynolds and their 4 children. Destiny Evans is their 4 year old daughter who has multiple surgeries for her rare
form of Spina Bifida. She is lively and enthusiastic, but she will require the use of a wheelchair for her life. This
house will serve the family well, especially this daughter who is excited to wheel up to the counter to help cook
and to be able to brush her teeth in the bathroom. Once again we could use assistance
through volunteers and donations. As in previous years we are funding 100% off the
home for our Partner. We encourage you to join us for either Blitz week (May 25 –
May 31) or throughout the summer for our build. Also for Blitz week we could use
lunch meals and as always we welcome donations and prayers. Details are at
www.catchthebuildingspirit.org or Call John at 694-9603 or Hank at 429-0360.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL/YOUTH MISSION
TOTUS TUUS (Totally Yours), is a week-long parish mission for youth and it’s com-
ing to Saint Helen parish June 16 through the 21. Students going into grades 1 – 6 next
fall are invited to participate in the Children’s program Monday thru Friday from 9:00
AM to 2:30PM for catechesis, games, Mass, songs, Reconciliation, and a chance to
build a stronger relationship with Christ. Teens entering grades 7 - 12 are invited to
come to a Teen Program each evening, Sunday through Thursday from 7:00 PM to 9:00
PM. The mission is led by a team of young adults who are on fire for our faith and
share that faith with the whole parish throughout their time with us for TOTUS TUUS.
The theme for this year’s catechesis is the Sacraments and Sorrowful Mysteries of the
Rosary. For more information about TOTUS TUUS, please contact Sean Kelly at 937-
254-6233 or email [email protected]. I hope to see you and your family there this summer!!!
Open Registration will be held May 25 & 26, June 1 & 2, and June 8 & 9 in the vestibule of church.
VBS ADULT PROGRAM
It’s not only for the young ones this year!
Monday, June 16 – Thursday, June 21, 2019
9:15-10:45 a.m. St. Julie Center
Join us for an engaging week of looking at how various parents and grandparents throughout the
history of our faith tradition dealt with difficult and disappointing children, reluctant teenagers, the vari-
ous trials of parenting, and all the many different joys and delights family life brought them! How did
they live holy and meaningful lives in the midst of it all? What can their stories teach us today? We will
talk about Mary the Blessed Mother, Abraham, Sarah, Hagar, and St. Helen, as well as several more con-
temporary holy people, including Enrique Shaw, Dorothy Day and Hildegard Burjan. Be prepared for
discussions, prayer, videos and presentations, as well as plenty of sharing and coffee!
NO COST to participants! CHILDCARE AVAILABLE! Registration not necessary (except to ar-
range childcare), but encouraged. Drop-ins welcome. Contact Sue Sack at 254-6233 ext 313 or email
[email protected] for more information.

NEEDS YOUR HELP We are currently creating baskets and would
greatly appreciate any donations you are willing to
give. You can create your own basket or let us do it
for you. Although each basket is supposed to be
worth at least $200 we will combine any size dona-
tion with others, so no donation is too small. Or may-
be you are part of a group that would like to join to-
gether to make a basket. If you’d like to create your
own basket, we have information regarding what bas-
kets have done well in the past. Please contact Eliza-
beth Gosser (937-231-1298) or Kim Braun (937-470-
8220) if you have any questions. Donations can be
dropped off at the Parish Office, the School Office, or
the Credit Union. Thank you!
HELLO WONDERFUL ST. HELEN
COMMUNITY! The St. Helen Festival is fast approaching and
I am one of the co-chairs of the Funnel Cake Booth.
This year the St. Helen Festival is on Friday, June 7th;
Saturday, June 8th; and Sunday, June 9th. We NEED
volunteers to work this booth. It's fun, easy, and no
prior experience is required. All we need is a few
hours of your time.
Because of the nature of the funnel cake booth
(hot oil), we can't have any children working the
booth, but we can use as many people age 16 or older
that are able to work as we can get.
If you are willing to help us out with a shift or
two, please use the link below to sign up.

popular doll booth! We would love to get about 48
more dolls dressed to ensure we can keep the booth
open all weekend long. Can you dress 6 dolls for
us? Please stop by the parish or school office to pick
them up, and return anytime during festival set-
up. Contact Lisa, 902-9905 for more info.
