President’s Thoughts—Steve Soltwedel I hope everyone found time to enjoy the fall colors this year. They were breath-taking. The colors are almost history for this year, and we received a new color on October 16th and 17th. Beautiful white snow that stuck around for our brush-ing day. It was the best kind of reminder that we could get that it is time to ready for a great snowmobile season. We had a large and energetic group of 47 people turn out for brushing day. It was heartwarming to see everyone and realize that in this crazy year of COVID we were only 3 people shy of our all-time brushing attendance record. You guys are the greatest. All we have left now is some more mechanical trimming, sign work and final inspections to be ready for trail opening in December. Trail maps have been proofed and due in soon. Please remember that the busi-nesses that support our club with a trail map ad are a major source of revenue that helps with the expense of maintaining the best trails in the state. Take note of who they are and support them with your business when you are enjoying the Northwoods. It seems like every month we can report on financial support of the local commu-nity. This month we want to thank Slo’s Pub for their donation of proceeds from last year’s snowmobile challenge. We also want to acknowledge and thank the Town of St. Germain for their $10,000 donation we received at our October meeting. A special thanks to members who include donations with their mem-bership renewals which for the month of September was just over $6,000. We do not often enough thank the many members that willingly donate their time and talent to do all the behind the scenes work that keeps our club running. We continue to hold membership meetings on the second Tuesday of every month at the St. Germain Community Center. Our next meeting is November 10th at 7:00 PM. The center has plenty of room for social distancing. Wear your masks when you come. We are still working towards being able to have a De-cember Christmas meeting we can all attend. Watch next month’s newsletter for details. We are beginning to make plans to provide food and beverage at the Arrowhead Groomer Show on February 3-4, 2021. Once we get the green light for this event, we will make our call for volunteers. We have prepared a COVID plan for the event to assure we can be the safest we can for both volunteers and partici-pants. Details next month. I also want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and hope that we can all find safe ways to see family and friends at this holiday. Steve
PRESS RELEASE: Tuesday, October 27, 2020: We are very sad to announce that the
2021 Hiller’s Radar Run must be cancelled. Trust us when we say, this was no easy de-
cision and leaves us with heavy hearts. In recent weeks, mul ple issues have stacked
against us for the amount of planning and coordina on necessary to hold an event of
this type. Our love for this event and all of you that take part moves forward! We urge
you to con nue suppor ng the Bikini Run girls with your financial dona ons benefi ng
the amazing cause with Pink Ribbon Riders. Please, stay safe and healthy. We miss you!
Trail Boss Report—Jim Wendt WOW....with snow flying and temps in the 20’s I was con-cerned we would have a light turnout for our brushing day. Man, was I wrong! We had 47 die hard members who gave up their morning to help the club get work done on the trails! I offered my sincere thanks to everyone who came out but had to tell them there would be no club party that evening due to (you guessed it...corona virus). I hope next year we can break our attendance record of 51 set last year and have another great “thank you” party for all to attend. Trail brushing with the tractor is around 50% complete so if weather cooperates we should have no problem completing on time. All new drivers have been hired and our equip-ment is ready. The confusion regarding the new building garage doors continues. We are fully operational but with the wrong doors. All the blame goes to COVID with order details questionable. All will be adjusted in due time. With the early snow showers it is hard to not get excited but is only October. Our favorite season will come in due time!!! HAPPY TRAILS! Jim
Secretary’s Report—Kay Schultz There is not much new to report this month. Temperatures have really plummeted. Most of the temperatures for this coming week are in the 30’s. Yesterday we had a pretty good snow—at least a couple of inches. The trees and ground were completely covered. Only one word to de-scribe it—BEAUTIFUL! Don’t forget to get your trail pass. The season will be here before you know it. Stay safe. Kay Schultz Membership Meeting Despite the fact that only 19 people attended the October membership meeting, there were a lot of items discussed. Some of them were the groomer barn update, snowmobile safety class, Arrowhead Groomer Show, Hiller’s Radar Run and “virtual” clothing store to name just a few. It would be great to see you at these meetings. The November meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 10th at 7:00 pm at the St. Germain Community Center. Please remember that once again face masks are required. St. Germain Bo-Boen Officers and Board of Directors
Northwoods Snowmobile Challenge Sue Slominski of Slo’s Pub presented the club with a check for $885 for the proceeds raised for the Steve Pulec Northwoods Snowmobile Chal-lenge from last season. Additional thanks go out to Sister’s Saloon, Slo’s Pub, Sayner Pub, Shamrock Pub and the Thunderbird Bar & Grill for supporting this great fundraiser for area clubs.

Snowmobile Safety Class December 12 & 13, 2020
Just a reminder that the Snowmobile Safety Class will be held on Saturday, December 12 (8:30 am to 2:30 pm and Sunday, December 13 (9:00 am to Noon) at the St. Ger-main Community Center. Students must attend both days. To sign up, contact Peggy Ausloos at 715-892-647 or [email protected]. Please have your DNR Customer num-ber when registering. If you do not have a number you can obtain one at www.gowild.wi.gov or by calling the DNR at 888-936-7463. Class size will be limited this year due to social distancing guidelines and parents will not be al-lowed to audit the class. (If a student has special needs we will try to accommodate as best as we can.) There is a $10 fee per student that should be paid on Saturday when checking in. Cash is preferred. We will also have to limit the number of volunteers to stay within those guidelines so please be patient. If you are willing wo bake cookies or bars that would be greatly appreciated however they must be individually packaged in baggies or plastic wrap. Please deliver to the Community Center on Saturday morning. Jack Horvath and Roxanne Platz have volunteered to pack “box lunches” for the students and instructors for Satur-day’s lunch. We will also supply beverages. Students and instructors are required to wear masks and hand sanitizer will be available. We are committed to making this a safe and positive experience for everyone.
THANK YOU! At our October membership mee ng, Town
Chairman, Tom Christensen presented a check for $10,000 to
Bo‐Boen Club President Steve Soltwedel. Monies presented
were raised thru room tax revenue.
