Nu Flow successfully completed a pipe lining project at a historic church without causing destruction or displacement. The system was rehabilitated with the patented Nu Flow process, creating a structurally sound pipe within the existing pipe. Project: Clean and line root intruded drain lines using Nu Flow’s trenchless, cured-in-place structural liner. Customer and Site: St. George’s Memorial Church, a Christian church which opened in 1924 in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. System: 172 feet of sanitary drain line extending from the church to the main sewer line and including four 22-degree and two 45-degree bends. Situation: St. George’s Church was experiencing repeated backups throughout the church. Nu Flow inspected their pipes with a specialized drain camera and found that roots had intruded two of St. George’s aging drain lines causing the backups. Old trees located around the building had roots that grew as far as 80 feet into the line. Solution: Nu Flow retrotted the sanitary drain lines using their structural drain liner. Nu Flow technicians rst cleaned the system to remove the roots. Once complete, they inserted a Pull-in-Place structural liner in the existing pipe without digging up the existing pipe. The patented Nu Flow process preserved the structure and eliminated the need for destruction to the historic church. The result is a seamless pipe that will keep roots out and avoid related problems.
