Our parish is honored to host your marriage celebration. In order to accomplish all of the necessary preparations, arrange-

ments should be made with one of the priests at least one year in advance. Pre-Cana and God's Plan for a Joy-Filled Mar-

riage classes can be arranged through the Family Life Office of the Archdiocese of Newark at www.rcan.org.

MINISTRY TO THE SICK:

For those of advanced age or seriously ill, Holy Communion will be brought to the home of any person permanently or tem-

porarily homebound. Please contact the parish office.

The Lord said to Joshua, “Today I have removed the reproach of Egypt from you.” After forty years of wan-dering in the desert, this hard-headed people have finally reached the Promised Land. No more do they eat the man-na in the desert, but they partake of the fruits of their new homeland. God has kept the promise to their parents in Egypt. Even though they were a sinful people, many times questioning God and even worshiping false gods, God has forgiven them and fulfilled the promise. The “take-away” for us is that there is no sin that is unforgivable. We may have offended our neighbors, given a bad example to someone, even worshiped the false gods of money and power. But God is a merciful God, true to the words spoken to us. God forgives all and calls us back to love. Peace, Fr. Frank

Lent is our chance to leave our old ways behind and adopt a new way of life. When Easter comes, what will the new you be like? Be a more positive thinker. This is the keystone habit that will help you form the other important habits. Squash negative think-ing and trust that God will work with you to accomplish goals you set that are in harmony with his will. Focus on what’s important. First identify what is most im-portant to you - family, friends, faith and so on. Then eliminate everything else. Not only will you be free to focus on what is most important, this habit will spill over into other areas of your life such as tasks, projects and communication. Add kindness. Kindness is genuinely caring for others, wanting the best for them, and taking action to demonstrate that caring. Each day, make a decision to add an act of kindness to your day. Let someone go ahead of you in line, give a sincere compliment to a stranger, praise a coworker’s efforts, greet a passerby.

MANY THANKS!!! Here are a few of our parishioners and Deacon Jim serving your incredible meal to our guests in Hackensack last Saturday. It is impossible to count all the "thank you" and "God bless you" re-marks we heard as guest after guest returned to the serving station to share their gratitude. In fact at least one diner was heard to say that it was the "most wonderful meal" he'd ever had!! The meal was truly remarkable and it was both made and served with an abundance of love.
