When I was growing up, it was my parents’ dream to send me, their first son, to college. St. Francis College made that dream come true by awarding me a scholarship. The Franciscan Brothers gave me the opportunity of a lifetime. It’s impossible to know how my life would have turned out without the gift of scholarship.

For more than a century, St. Francis College has provided scholarship aid to students from all walks of life, helping make the college experience available to those who might not otherwise have the opportunity to pursue a college education. Countless students have expanded their horizons and realized their dreams of a college education as a result of scholarship gifts.

Scholarships are the lifeblood of the College, providing crucial support for our students, many of whom are the first in their families to attend college. Thanks to the generosity of our scholarship benefactors and donors, we are able to provide support to so many of our deserving students. We currently have 191 scholarships, of which 140 are fully endowed, in addition to a number of awards. This year, we awarded endowed scholarships to 30 students. I cannot imagine a better investment.

On the following pages, you will read about scholarships that have been established to memorialize a member of the St. Francis College alumni family, some to honor a classmate, a parent, a friend, or a professor. All of these scholarships have been established by individuals who strongly believe in St. Francis College’s commitment to providing a superior liberal arts education at an affordable tuition.

I am proud and grateful that St. Francis College gave me my start in life. Thank you for allowing the College to continue to fulfill the dreams of so many students.

Sincerely in St. Francis,

Frank J. Macchiarola ’62 President
