A HEARTWARMING VISIT Tuesday, 19 November, was an auspicious occasion for

the College as the school community welcomed His

Eminence Archbishop Makarios to our school.

Greeted by Reverend Father Panayiotis Protopsaltis,

Reverend Father Peter Mavrommatis, the Interim

School Principal, Ms Tania Mihailuk, Member of the

Legislative Assembly, Member for Bankstown and

Member of the Australian Labor Party, the President of

the School Board, Mr Christos Spiropoulos, Board

members, the Student Representatives Councils of

both the Primary and High School, parishioners and

senior school executive, His Eminence entered the

Church to venerate the Holy Altar and lead a Trisagio

for the repose of the soul of the late Peter Theophilou

OAM, founder of St Euphemia College. It was a moving

ceremony for Mrs Theophilou, Mr and Mrs Harpas and

Mr Theophilou’s granddaughter. Helena and extended

family.

The whole school Prep – Year 11 waited with

anticipation for His Eminence in the school hall. The

school assembly, officiated by the High School Captains

of 2020, Angeliki Georgakopoulou and Patrick

Anastasiou, listened to His Eminence’s kind and

inspirational words of encouragement. This was

followed by a presentation of Greek poetry recitations,

dances by students of the primary school and an

instrumental on the Cretan lyra played and sung by

Iliana Janes (Year 4). His Eminence then visited various

classes in the Primary School as well as high school

students participating in a PD/H/PE lesson.

We thank His Eminence for this heartwarming and

unforgettable visit and look forward to future visits as

he so generously offered to attend in the future.

CHRISTMAS CAROLS The Christmas spirit was evident on Friday, 23

November when again the school community came

together to celebrate the advent of Christmas.

Students from both the Primary and High School sang

Christmas carols in English and Greek.

Again, the playground was transformed into a

Christmas wonderland with fairy lights, candles and

stalls. This celebratory ambience was a joyful event for

families and staff, as the academic year comes to an

end.

Congratulations to all the teachers and staff for

organizing such a convivial evening of mirth and

merriment.



Term Dates Term 4 ends for all students on Wednesday, 11

December. We wish all families a Merry Christmas and

a Happy New Year.

School resumes on Thursday, 30 January 2020for all

students Years 1-12.

School begins for Prep and Kindergarten students on

Monday 3 February 2020.



Primary News As we approach the end of the Year, I would like to take

this opportunity to congratulate all the students for

their great efforts and wonderful achievements this

year. Term 4 is always a very busy and full term. I thank

our students and teachers for helping make 2019

another successful year. I wish you all a wonderful and

relaxing holiday break and hope that you all return

ready for another busy and exciting year ahead.

St Euphemia College Preparatory School 2020 Our Prep School is a great place for your child to begin

their learning journey. The School provides an

environment, which is safe and secure, encourages

creativity and promotes learning. The class operates

from 8:30am to 3:00pm from Monday to Friday. The

students are exposed to the Early Stage One outcomes

from the NESA, through an integrated, play based and

inquiry based, hands on approach. The program

emphasises on early literacy and numeracy. There are

specialist lessons available in Modern Greek, Music, ICT

and Religion. Students also visit the School Library

weekly and participate in Greek Dancing lessons on

specified days. Please note that there is a minimum

attendance of two days a week. If your child has turned

or is turning 4 in 2020 and you are interested, please

fill out the Enrolment Form available from the Front

Office. We look forward to welcoming our new Prep

students for 2020.

Kindergarten 2020 There are vacancies available for Kindergarten 2020. If

you have any friends or relatives interested in enrolling

their children, please ask them to contact the

Enrolment Officer, Ms Kiahidis for an application form.

The School also has some vacancies in some of the

other grades. Any interested friends, neighbours or

relatives, can also contact the School for an Enrolment

Form or they can download it from our website

www.steuphemia.nsw.edu.au. Interested parents

wishing to tour the School can contact the Secretary for

an appointment with the Primary Deputy.

Sport/Bus Transport Levy Sport/Bus transport levy fees are now overdue. Please

ensure that payment is made to the school before the

end of the school year.

Dangers of the Internet It has come to the School’s attention that some

students in the Primary school are using social media

and online gaming as a platform to bully and harass

other students of the School. Parental supervision of

students’ use of the Internet is paramount as students

of primary age are still too young to correctly

understand the implications of their actions online.

These same students could also fall victim to online

predators who stalk the internet for children that have

access to it without parental supervision. In these

trying times, I urge all parents to be vigilant and to

correctly supervise their children’s Internet time.

Certificate of Attainment On Thursday 21 November, our Primary and High

School students were presented with the Certificate of

Attainment at Sydney University. It was the first time

that our School had students who received awards

across all Levels. What a phenomenal accomplishment.

Prep Graduation Ceremony – Wednesday 4

December Parents and caregivers of the Prep students are invited

to attend a morning tea on Wednesday 4 December at

9:00am in the Prep classroom. During the session, the

Prep students will be presented with their certificates

and medallions, followed by their graduation song

performance. We kindly ask that only parents of the

Prep class attend, as we have limited seats in our

classroom. Morning tea will also be provided.

Year 6 Graduation Dinner—Friday 6

December Each year we hold a Graduation Dinner to celebrate the

end of Primary School for our Year 6 students. The

Graduation Dinner is planned as a family event and we

encourage all Year 6 parents to attend and share the

celebration with us. The Graduation will be held at the

Himalaya Emporium Function Centre on Friday 6

December between 7:00pm to 11:00pm. The cost is

$55 per person. Completing Year 6 is a significant

milestone for students as they move onto High School.

We look forward to a great evening celebrating the

journey that the Year 6 students have taken to this

point in their lives.

Primary Sports Assembly - Monday 9

December The Primary Sports Assembly will be held on Monday 9

December at 1:30 pm in the Peter Theophilou Wing of

the new building (access via East Terrace only). It is an

event that celebrates the students who have achieved

excellent accomplishments in Sport and some other

awards will be presented as well. We look forward to

seeing parents and caregivers on the day.

Primary Presentation Day – Tuesday 10

December Parents and caregivers are invited to attend our Annual

Primary Presentation Day Ceremony for Years 3-6 on

Tuesday 10 December at 11:00 am in the Peter

Theophilou Wing of the new building (access via East

Terrace only). We hope you can join us. Parents

wishing to take their children home after the

Ceremony may do so by simply signing them out at the

Front Office and notifying their teachers.

PSSA Summer Sports Finals Congratulations to the Junior and Senior Boys

Basketball Teams, the Boys T-Ball Team, the Girls

Softball Team and the Junior Boys Cricket Team for

reaching the Semi-Finals. Our school is very proud of

the students and their effort and commitment to their

teams.

Thank you to all the sports coaches for their dedication

to their teams.

Excursions

Kindergarten and Year 6 – Wednesday 11

December On Wednesday 11 December, Kindergarten and Year

6 will be going on an excursion to Bankstown HOYTS

Cinemas and Bankstown City Gardens. The cost of the

excursion is $35. Students will need to bring their own

packed recess, lunch and a water bottle. They are to

wear their summer sports uniform, including their hat.

In the event of wet weather, the excursion will proceed

as planned.

Years 3 and 4 – Wednesday 11 December On Wednesday 11 December, Years 3 and 4 will be

going on an excursion to ZONE Bowling in Villawood.

The cost of the excursion is $35. Students will need to

bring their own packed recess and a water bottle.

Lunch is provided by the venue. They are to wear their

summer sports uniform, including their hat. In the

event of wet weather, the excursion will proceed as

planned.

Years 1, 2 and 5 - Wednesday 11 December On Wednesday 11 December, Years 1, 2 and 5 will be

going on an excursion to Kingpin in North Strathfield.

The cost of the excursion is $42. Students will need to

bring their own packed recess and a water bottle.

Lunch is provided by the venue. They are to wear their

summer sports uniform, including their hat. In the

event of wet weather, the excursion will proceed as

planned.

Infants Christmas Fun Day On Monday 2 December, KindiFarm Mobile Animal

Farm will be visiting our School. All Infants will have the

opportunity to enjoy the experience and after the visit,

they will enjoy a dance party. Students are to wear

Christmas mufti on the day.

The Year Ahead

Welcome to new Prep and Kindergarten Students

On Thursday 30 January, we welcome back our Year 1

to Year 6 students. On Monday 3 February we welcome

our new Prep and Kindergarten students for 2020 to

our School. The Kindergarten students will meet in the

School Hall at 9:30am, where they will be introduced

to their class teachers. A reminder that Kindergarten

will finish School at 2:50pm from Monday 4 February

until Friday 8 February 2018. For this week only,

parents will be allowed to pick their children up from

their Kindergarten classrooms.

On the week beginning 4 February, Prep students will

also begin their schooling. Parents are to drop off and

collect their Prep children from the Prep Room, located

on Level 1 of the Primary building. We are looking

forward to seeing all our new students and their

families.

Class Allocations Classes for 2020 are in the process of being organised.

These changes are necessary in order to give students

the opportunity to interact with a variety of students

from their grade and to help facilitate students’ social

development. This will give students the chance to

make new friends or even have a fresh start.

Information regarding classes and teachers will not be

released prior to the beginning of the 2020 School

term.

Swimming Program 2020 During Term 1, Year 2 will undertake swimming lessons

every Thursday, commencing Thursday 6 February for

9 weeks. Years 3 and 5 will take part in a three week

Intensive Swimming Program commencing Monday 10

February. Lessons will be held from Monday to

Wednesday for 3 weeks. More details and a permission

note will be handed out upon the student’s return to

School.



Prefect Body for 2020 Congratulations to the following students who were

elected by the students and staff to be part of the 2020

Prefect Body. Congratulations also to the current

Prefect Body for a great job this year. I thank them also

for their dedication and the outstanding services they

have provided our School. You have made us very

Cocurricular Classes for 2020 Our Cocurricular program will be continuing in the

2020 School year. Cocurricular classes are available for

students in Years 3 to 6. Classes will commence in

Week 3 on Monday 10 February.

Kids Zone Clubs for 2020 The introduction of the Kids Zone Lunchtime clubs

were a great success last year. In 2020, we will be

continuing this great initiative, beginning Term 1, Week

3. Stay tuned for further details.

Excursions and Incursions

Year 1 - Sydney Aquarium

Year 5 ‘kNOw Waste' Workshop Year 5 participated in an incursion by CLEANAWAY.

They participated in a module titled, ‘Smart Shopping',

whereby they learnt that packaging is all around us and

plays a vital role in our society, but it quickly becomes

our waste. They learnt to identify packaging as a

resource and developed smarter shopping skills to

reduce the amount of waste we produce.

The Year 5 students thoroughly enjoyed listening to the

waste issues. They further developed their own

environmental values and were encouraged to think

positively about humanity's long-term environmental

behaviours.



Year 2 – NSW Rail Museum On Wednesday 27 November, Year 2 went to the NSW

Rail Museum at Thirlmere. They learnt about life on the

train lines and in the workshops. They found out how

signals kept the lines safe and they explored a variety

of Steam Trains. Students also experienced a Steam

train firsthand by going on a Train Ride.

All students were keen to visit the Prison Van.

Spell-a-Thon In total, we raised an outstanding amount of $7113.30

from the Spell-a-Thon Competition. The top fundraiser

for the Infants was Elias ($500) from 1C and for the

Primary, Helen ($350) from 4B.

The winning class was Ms Gallo’s class, raising

$1157.00. 1C had the opportunity to dress in mufti for

the day and enjoyed a pizza party. Well done.

Congratulations also to all the lucky students who were

randomly picked out of each class draw and who

received a $30 gift voucher.

We are now looking into purchasing some great digital

resources which will be incorporated into our ICT

programs.

Gratitude Workshop and Gelato and Mufti

Day Our final workshop of the year was on the topic of

Gratitude.

Students had to name something they were grateful

for and express why they were grateful.

We are so proud of our students, their responses and

their overall participation in these sessions.

We are grateful for our entire School community and

grateful to our patron Saint - Saint Euphemia - who

always guides and protects us.

Thank you also to Ms Apostolou and Ms Chalhoub for

organising these wonderful sessions for our students

throughout the year.

Speakers’ Challenge An excellent effort from the 3 students who

represented our School in the Speakers' Challenge at

Abbotsleigh Junior School. Ioanna was selected as one

of the nine finalists out of over 100 students from other

private schools. She presented outstanding speeches

on the topics of 'Reimagining' and 'A Simple Life'. Her

delivery was superb and she was so close to taking out

the competition. Congratulations Ioanna, Constance

and Tiana for making us very proud of your efforts.



Gymnastics Program – Kindergarten, Year 1

and Year 4

Kindergarten Orientation and Transition

Lessons After a successful Kindergarten Orientation, we

welcomed our new Kindergarten students to our

School through a series of Transition Sessions.

The students had a lot of fun meeting the Kindergarten

teachers and participating in a number of exciting

learning activities and together with their parents

enjoyed a wonderful morning tea.

Thank you also to our current Kindergarten students

who entertained the audience by performing the play,

‘The Sky is Falling Down’.

We look forward to seeing their smiling faces in 2020.



Archbishop Makarios’ Visit

Year 6 High School Transition Year 6 had the opportunity to participate in a variety of

classes with the High School teachers over three visits.

All students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and we

wish them all the best as they begin Year 7 in 2020.



Kindergarten Graduation Our 2019 Kindergarten students graduated from

Kindergarten on Tuesday 26 November. It was an

emotional day for both parents and teachers. We will

miss them and we wish them every success in Year 1.



High School News YEAR 10 COMMUNITY SERVICE Year 10 students took part in Community Service

activities from Tuesday 3 December to Friday 6

December. As part of the week's activities, students

visited St Basil's Nursing Home, Meals on Wheels and

Soup Kitchen St Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox

Church Newtown. Also, a significant part of the week

was dedicated to collecting canned food, clothing, toys

and other necessary items for the needy.

HOLY COMMUNION All students will be attending church on Wednesday 11

December.

They are all encouraged to prepare and partake of Holy

Communion.

PRESENTATION NIGHT The Principal and staff of the College invite all

parents/caregivers, students and friends to attend the

Annual Presentation Evening on Wednesday, 11

December at 6 30 pm for a 7 00pm start in the New

School Hall. It is a wonderful occasion where we

celebrate the achievements of our students.

All students are expected to attend in full school

uniform.

Congratulations to all students for their diligence in

achieving their best!

VICTOR CHANG SCIENCE AWARDS Patrick Anastasiou and Steven Makras were the 2019

recipients of the Victor Chang Science Award for the

Canterbury Bankstown area. This award is presented to

Year 11 students in recognition of their achievements

in Science. It also provides them with the opportunity

to tour the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, a

facility that is normally not available to the

public. Congratulations to both Patrick and Steven for

their achievements.



SPORTS REPORT Due to poor weather at the end of Term 3, the OzTag

finals were cancelled and the winners have been

determined by the ladder. This means that our Open

Boys just missed out on first place, ranking second

overall, and that the U/15s OzTag Boys team have won

the competition.

Many thanks to Father Peter and Mr Verghios for all

their hard work and effort coaching them to victory.

Nikolas Papadopoulos Nikolas Papadopoulos competed at the Touch National

Youth Championships in Queensland as a part of the

CISNSW Team. He had the privilege of being coached

by the current Australian Captain, Nicholas Goode. To

top it all off, Nikolas received the Coach's Award at the

conclusion of the event. What an amazing feat to have

his skills recognised by such an eminent person in the

Touch community!

ACPE NSW All Schools Athletics

Championships Steve Kontobassis (Year 7) and Harris Kontobassis

(Year 8) have done it again! The boys represented the

College at the ACPE NSW All Schools Athletics

Championships. At this event, they competed against

the best students from all NSW schools (Public,

Catholic and Independent).

Harris has qualified to proceed to Australian All Schools

MEDIEVAL EUROPE INCURSION On Thursday, 21 November, Year 8 had an incursion on

Medieval Europe. Experts in this study arrived at school

and set up the school hall with medieval equipment.

They taught us all about the different types of armour,

explaining what each piece did to protect us. He also

showed us the different weapons like swords and

shields. There was even a three metres long sword! He

answered many questions and ended the presentation

with different torture methods. This presentation

helped us to better understand the topic.

COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD On Wednesday, 20 November, Maria Georgakopoulou

of Year 12 was awarded the 2019 Community Service

Award. Jason Clare, member of the Australian House

of Representatives for Blaxland, presented Maria with

the award at the Bankstown Sports Club. Throughout

her education at the College, Maria has worked

tirelessly for the School and the wider community.

We congratulate Maria who has been an inspiration

and excellent role model at the School.

MATHEMATICS INCURSION On Tuesday 25 November and Wednesday 26

November, Years 7 to 10 Mathematics participated in

an incursion called Smart Money. They participated in

individual and group work programs and presentations

which helped to consolidate information learned in the

classroom. Year 7 learnt about Smart Spending, Year 9

learnt about Smart Earning and Smart Saving, and Year

10 participated in workshops on investing and

enterprise, where they learnt to put together

proposals. The workshops were lively and abuzz with

activity as students were engaged in learning and

discussing about being smart with money.



2019 Canterbury Bankstown Youth Awards On Wednesday 27 November, Ms Zafiriou and Ms Lou

attended the 2019 Canterbury Bankstown Youth

Awards Ceremony.

Many schools sent in numerous nominations but

only 23 students were selected into this final stage. St

Euphemia College had 3 finalists in 2 of the 6

categories.

It is an incredible accomplishment to be a finalist and

to have their achievements recognised by the local

και ιδρυτή του Κολλεγίου της Αγίας Ευφημίας. Ήταν

μία συγκινητική τελετή για την κα Θεοφίλου, τον κ. και

την κα Χάρπα, την Έλενα, εγγονή του κ. Θεοφίλου,

καθώς και τους συγγενείς του.

Ολόκληρο το Σχολείο από το Προνήπιο έως και την Β΄

Γυμνασίου περίμεναν με ανυπομονησία για Τον

Σεβασμιώτατο στην αίθουσα τελετών του Σχολείου. Οι

μαθητές του Σχολείου μαζί με τους Σχολικούς

Αρχηγούς του Γυμνασίου, Αγγελική Γεωργακοπούλου

και Παντελής Αθανασίου, άκουγαν τα ευγενικά και

ενθαρρυντικά λόγια Του Σεβασιώτατου, που

αποτελούν πηγή έμπνευσης για όλους.

Έπειτα ακλούθησαν απαγγελίες ποιημάτων και χοροί

των μαθητών του Δημοτικού, καθώς και ένα Κρητικό

τραγούδι που τραγούδησε η Ιλιάνα Τζανετάκου (Δ’

Δημοτικού) με τη συνοδεία της Κρητικής της λύρας.

Αργότερα ο Σεβασμιώτατος επισκέφθηκε διάφορες

τάξεις του Δημοτικού και παρακολούθησε ένα

μάθημα Φυσικής Αγωγής.

Ευχαριστούμε θερμά Τον Σεβασμιώτατο για τη

συγκινητική αυτή επίσκεψή του στο Σχολείο μας και

ευελπιστούμε να μας ξαναεπισκεφθεί στο μέλλον

όπως μας υποσχέθηκε.

Χριστουγεννιάτικα Κάλαντα

Την Παρασκευή, 22 Νοεμβρίου η σχολική κοινότητά

συγκεντρώθηκε για να γιορτάσει τον ερχομό των

Χριστουγέννων. Οι μαθητές του Δημοτικού και του

Γυμνασίου τραγούδησαν Χριστουγεννιάτικα κάλαντα

στα ελληνικά και αγγλικά.

Το προαύλιο ήταν και πάλι στολισμένο και

φωταγωγημένο και υπήρχαν και διάφορα περίπτερα.

Η γιορτινή ατμόσφαιρα έδωσε μεγάλη χαρά σε όλες

τις οικογένειες και το προσωπικό καθώς πλησιάζει το

τέλος της σχολικής χρονιάς.

Συγχαρητήρια σε όλους τους δασκάλους/καθηγητές

για την άριστη διοργάνωση μιας τόσο ευχάριστης

βραδιάς.

Ιανουαρίου 2020. Το Προνήπιο και το Νηπιαγωγείο θα

ξεκινήσει την Δευτέρα, 3 Φεβρουαρίου 2020.

Πιστοποιητικό Ελληνομάθειας

Την Πέμπτη, 21 Νοεμβρίου οι μαθητές του Δημοτικού

και Γυμνασίου πήραν τα Πιστοποιητικά

Ελληνομάθειας στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Σύδνεϋ. Φέτος

για πρώτη φορά το Δημοτικό και Γυμνάσιο του

Κολλεγίου μας συμμετείχε με υποψηφίους σε όλα τα

επίπεδα ελληνομάθειας δηλαδή στο Α1 (8-12), Α1

(έφηβοι), Α2, Β1, Β2, Γ1 και Γ2. Αυτό θεωρείται μεγάλη

επιτυχία, καθώς οι μαθητές μας (Ελληνόπουλα 4ης και

5ης γενιάς) αποδεικνύουν έτσι την πρόοδό τους στην

εκμάθηση της ελληνικής γλώσσας.

Τα Νέα του Δημοτικού Δεκέμβριος 2019/Ιανουάριος 2020 Καθώς φτάνουμε στο τέλος της φετινής μας χρονιάς,

θα ήθελα να συγχαρώ όλους τους μαθητές για την

προσπάθεια που κατέβαλαν φέτος καθώς και για τα

εκπληκτικά επιτεύγματα τους. Το Δ΄ Τρίμηνο είναι από

τα πιο πολυάσχολα και κουραστικά τρίμηνα. Θα ήθελα

να ευχαριστήσω τους μαθητές και τους/τις

δασκάλους/ες, χάρη στους οποίους η φετινή χρονιά

του 2019 ήταν τόσο επιτυχημένη. Εύχομαι σε όλους

καλές διακοπές, καλή ξεκούραση και είθε να

ξεκινήσουμε το 2020 ανανεωμένοι.

Προνήπιο του Κολλεγίου της Αγίας Ευφημίας

2020 To Προνήπιο αποτελεί την πρώτη εκπαιδευτική

αφετηρία των παιδιών σας. Το Σχολείο μας ευνοεί ένα

ασφαλές περιβάλλον που προωθεί τη

δημιουργικότητα και τη μάθηση. Η τάξη του

Προνήπιου αρχίζει στις 8:30πμ και σχολάει στις

3:00μμ, από Δευτέρα ως Παρασκευή. Οι μαθητές θα

κινηθούν στα πλαίσια των στόχων του Α΄ Προστάδιου

του Υπουργείου Παιδείας, μέσα από το δημιουργικό

παιχνίδι και με βάση της εξερεύνηση. Το πρόγραμμα

αυτό δίνει έμφαση στη γλώσσα και την αριθμητική.

Επιπρόσθετα, τα παιδιά διδάσκονται Νέα Ελληνικά,

Φυσική Αγωγή, Πληροφορική, Θρησκευτικά και

μαθαίνουν ελληνικό χορό. Τα παιδιά επισκέπτονται τη

βιβλιοθήκη κάθε εβδομάδα. Αν το παιδί σας θα γίνει 4

χρονών το 2020 και ενδιαφέρεστε να το γράψετε στο

Προνήπιο, μπορείτε να αποταθείτε στη Γραμματεία

του Σχολείου για την αίτηση εγγραφής. Οι μαθητές του

Προνηπίου θα πρέπει να παρακολουθούν τα

μαθήματα τουλάχιστον δύο φορές την εβδομάδα.

Έπειτα από μία επιτυχημένη χρονιά, ανυπομονούμε

να καλωσορίσουμε τους νέους, μικρούς μας μαθητές

στο σχολείο μας το 2020.

Νηπιαγωγείο 2020 Υπάρχουν ακόμη μερικές θέσεις για μαθητές του

Νηπιαγωγείου για το έτος 2020. Όσοι γονείς έχουν

φίλους ή συγγενείς που ενδιαφέρονται να γράψουν τα

παιδιά τους στις τάξεις αυτές μπορούν να

επικοινωνήσουν με τη Γραμματέα Εγγραφών, κ.

Κιαχίδης, για την αίτηση εγγραφής. Υπάρχουν ακόμη

μερικές θέσεις και στις άλλες τάξεις του Δημοτικού στο

Σχολείο μας. Όσοι γονείς έχουν φίλους ή συγγενείς

που ενδιαφέρονται να γράψουν τα παιδιά τους στις

τάξεις αυτές μπορούν να επικοινωνήσουν με τη

Γραμματεία του Σχολείου ή να βρουν την αίτηση

εγγραφής στο διαδίκτυο στην ηλεκτρονική διεύθυνση:

ξενάγηση στο σχολείο με την Υπεύθυνη του Δημοτικού

Σπορ- Χρηματικό ποσό εξόδων Μεταφοράς Σας υπενθυμίζουμε ότι η προθεσμία για να πληρωθεί

το ποσό εξόδων μεταφοράς για το σπορ του Δ΄

Τριμήνου έχει λήξει. Παρακαλούμε να πληρώσετε πριν

τη λήξη του σχολικού έτους.

Οι κίνδυνοι που καραδοκούν στο διαδίκτυο Μας έχουν ενημερώσει ότι μερικοί μαθητές του

Δημοτικού χρησιμοποιούν τα κοινωνικά μέσα

επικοινωνίας σαν ένα μέσο ψυχικού εκφοβισμού και

παρενόχλησης για άλλους μαθητές του σχολείου.

Είναι πολύ σημαντικό οι γονείς να επιβλέπουν το πώς

χρησιμοποιούν τα παιδιά τους το διαδίκτυο, διότι τα

παιδιά του δημοτικού είναι πολύ μικρά για να

αντιληφθούν τις επιπτώσεις της κακής χρήσης του

διαδικτύου. Τα ίδια παιδιά μπορεί να γίνουν θύματα

όσων εκμεταλλεύονται τα παιδιά που χρησιμοποιούν

το διαδίκτυο χωρίς την επίβλεψη των γονιών τους. Σε

αυτούς τους χαλεπούς καιρούς, παρακαλώ όλους τους

γονείς να επιβλέπουν πάντα παιδιά τους και να

επιβεβαιώνονται ότι τα παιδιά τους χρησιμοποιούν το

διαδίκτυο σωστά.

Αποφοίτηση του Προνήπιου-Τετάρτη 4

Δεκεμβρίου Οι γονείς και κηδεμόνες των μαθητών του Προνηπίου

προκαλούνται για πρωινό τσάι την Τετάρτη 4

Δεκεμβρίου στις 9:00πμ στην αίθουσα του Προνηπίου.

Στην τελετή αυτή, οι μαθητές του Προνηπίου θα

λάβουν τα πιστοποιητικά και τα μετάλλιά τους. Επίσης

θα μας διασκεδάσουν με διάφορες παρουσιάσεις. Σας




παρακαλούμε θερμά, να παραβρεθούν μόνο οι γονείς

διότι οι θέσεις μέσα στην αίθουσα είναι

περιορισμένες. Θα προσφερθεί και πρωινό τσάι.

Αποφοίτηση της Στ΄ Δημοτικού– Παρασκευή

6 Δεκεμβρίου Κάθε χρόνο λαμβάνει χώρα η τελετή της αποφοίτησης

της Στ΄ Δημοτικού. Η τελετή αυτή είναι οικογενειακή

και ενθαρρύνουμε όλους τους γονείς να παραβρεθούν

και να γιορτάσουν μαζί μας την αποφοίτηση των

μαθητών της Στ΄ Δημοτικού. Την Παρασκευή 6

Δεκεμβρίου, θα λάβει χώρα το ετήσιο δείπνο της

αποφοίτησης της Στ΄ Δημοτικού από τις 7:00μμ έως τις

11:00μμ στο Himalaya Emporium Function Centre. Το

κόστος της τελετής είναι 55 δολάρια το άτομο. Το

τέλος της Στ’ Δημοτικού αποτελεί ορόσημο για τους

μαθητές μας, οι οποίοι οδεύουν προς το Γυμνάσιο.

Ευελπιστούμε να μοιραστείτε μαζί μας αυτή τη βραδιά

που θα είναι γεμάτη από αναμνήσεις της σχολικής

πορείας των μαθητών της Στ΄ Δημοτικού.

Απονομή Αθλητικών Βραβείων– Δευτέρα 9

Δεκεμβρίου Τη Δευτέρα 9 Δεκεμβρίου στις 1:30μμ. προσκαλούμε

τους γονείς να παραβρεθούν στην απονομή των

αθλητικών βραβείων που θα λάβει χώρα στην πτέρυγα

Παναγιώτη Θεοφίλου του καινούργιου κτιρίου.

(είσοδος μόνο από το East Terrace). Στην τελετή αυτή

θα βραβευτούν τα άριστα αθλητικά επιτεύγματα των

μαθητών. Επίσης, την ίδια μέρα θα δοθούν και

διάφορα άλλα βραβεία στους μαθητές μας. Ελπίζω να

παραβρεθείτε στην απονομή των βραβείων των

μαθητών μας.

Τελετή Απονομής Βραβείων για τους μαθητές της Γ΄- Στ΄ Δημοτικού- Τρίτη 10 Δεκεμβρίου

Προσκαλούμε τους γονείς και κηδεμόνες να

παραβρεθούν στην Ετήσια Απονομή Βραβείων που θα

λάβει χώρα την Τρίτη 10 Δεκεμβρίου, στις 11.00πμ.

στην πτέρυγα Παναγιώτη Θεοφίλου του νέου κτιρίου

(είσοδος μόνο από το East Terrace). Σας έχουμε ήδη

στείλει σχετικό σημείωμα με τα βραβεία που θα

δοθούν την ημέρα αυτή. Ευελπιστούμε να

παραβρεθείτε στην τελετή αυτή. Όσοι γονείς

επιθυμούν να πάρουν τα παιδιά τους στο σπίτι μετά

την Τελετή, μπορούν να το κάνουν αφού υπογράψουν

στη Γραμματεία και ειδοποιήσουν τις δασκάλες.

Δεκεμβρίου Την Τετάρτη 11 Δεκεμβρίου, οι μαθητές του

Νηπιαγωγείου και της Στ’ Δημοτικού θα επισκεφθούν

το Bankstown HOYTS Cinemas και το Bankstown City

Gardens. Το κόστος της εκδρομής είναι 35 δολάρια. Οι

μαθητές θα πρέπει να φέρουν μαζί τους ένα μπουκάλι

νερό, πρωινό και μεσημεριανό. Θα πρέπει να φορούν

την καλοκαιρινή τους αθλητική στολή μαζί με το

καπέλο τους. Σε περίπτωση βροχής η εκδρομή θα

πραγματοποιηθεί.



Γ΄ και Δ’ Δημοτικού - Τετάρτη 11 Δεκεμβρίου Την Τετάρτη 11 Δεκεμβρίου, οι μαθητές της Γ’ και Δ’

Δημοτικού θα επισκεφθούν το ZONE Bowling στο

Villawood. Το κόστος της εκδρομής είναι 35 δολάρια

και συμπεριλαμβάνει και μεσημεριανό. Οι μαθητές θα

πρέπει να φέρουν μαζί τους πρωινό μαζί με ένα

μπουκάλι νερό. Μεσημεριανό θα προσφερθεί εκεί. Θα

πρέπει να φορούν την καλοκαιρινή τους αθλητική

στολή μαζί με το καπέλο τους. Σε περίπτωση βροχής η

εκδρομή θα πραγματοποιηθεί.

Α΄, Β’ και Ε’ Δημοτικού - Τετάρτη 11

Δεκεμβρίου Την Τετάρτη 11 Δεκεμβρίου, οι μαθητές της Α’, Β και Ε’

Δημοτικού θα επισκεφθούν το Kingpin στο North

Strathfield. Το κόστος της εκδρομής είναι 42 δολάρια.

Οι μαθητές θα πρέπει να φέρουν μαζί τους πρωινό

μαζί με ένα μπουκάλι νερό. Μεσημεριανό θα

προσφερθεί εκεί. Θα πρέπει να φορούν την

καλοκαιρινή τους αθλητική στολή μαζί με το καπέλο

τους. Σε περίπτωση βροχής η εκδρομή θα

πραγματοποιηθεί.

Χριστουγεννιάτικη Ημέρα Χαράς

Νηπιαγωγείου-Β’ Δημοτικού Τη Δευτέρα 2 Δεκεμβρίου, οι KindiFarm Mobile Animal

Farm θα επισκεφτούν το Σχολείο μας. Οι μαθητές του

Νηπιαγωγείου-Β’ Δημοτικού θα έχουν την ευκαιρία

να χαρούν την επίσκεψη των KindiFarm Mobile Animal

Farm και έπειτα θα ακολουθήσει ένα Ντίσκο πάρτι. Οι

μαθητές θα πρέπει να φορούν Χριστουγεννιάτικα

ρούχα.

Η Χρονιά που Ακολουθεί

Καλωσορίζουμε τους νέους μαθητές του

Προνήπιου και Νηπιαγωγείου Την Πέμπτη 30 Ιανουαρίου θα καλωσορίσουμε τους

μαθητές της Α΄ – Στ΄ Δημοτικού του 2020. Τη Δευτέρα

3 Φεβρουαρίου θα καλωσορίσουμε τα νέα μέλη του

Σχολείου, τους μαθητές του Προνήπιου και

Νηπιαγωγείου του 2020. Οι νέοι μαθητές θα

συναντήσουν τη δασκάλα της τάξης στην Αίθουσα

Τελετών του σχολείου στις 9.30πμ. Σας υπενθυμίζουμε

πως το Νηπιαγωγείο σχολάει στις 2.50μμ, από τη

Δευτέρα 4 Φεβρουαρίου έως και την Παρασκευή 8

Φεβρουαρίου 2020. Την πρώτη εβδομάδα οι γονείς θα

μπορούν να παραλάβουν τα παιδιά τους από την

αίθουσα του Νηπιαγωγείου.

Από τη Δευτέρα 4 Φεβρουαρίου ξεκινούν το σχολείο

και οι μαθητές του Προνηπίου. Οι γονείς μπορούν να

αφήνουν και να παίρνουν τα παιδιά τους από την

αίθουσα του Προνηπίου που βρίσκεται στον Α’ Όροφο

του Δημοτικού Σχολείου. Ευελπιστούμε να

καλωσορίσουμε τους νέους, μικρούς μας μαθητές και

τις οικογένειές τους στο σχολείο μας.

Κατανομή Τάξεων Οι τάξεις για το νέο έτος 2020 βρίσκονται στη

διαδικασία της ανακατανομής. Αυτό θα βοηθήσει την

κοινωνική εξέλιξη των μαθητών και θα τους βοηθήσει

να γνωρίσουν καινούριους φίλους. Με αυτόν τον

τρόπο οι μαθητές θα μπορέσουν να κάνουν μια

καινούρια αρχή στη νέα τους τάξη. Οι τάξεις και οι

δασκάλες των τάξεων θα ανακοινωθούν την πρώτη

μέρα της σχολικής χρονιάς 2020.

Πρόγραμμα Κολύμβησης 2020 Στη διάρκεια του Α΄ Τριμήνου, η Β΄ Δημοτικού θα

λάβει μέρος σε 9 μαθήματα κολύμβησης κάθε Πέμπτη,

ξεκινώντας από την Πέμπτη 6 Φεβρουαρίου. Οι

μαθητές της Γ΄ και Ε΄ Δημοτικού θα λάβουν μέρος σε

ένα Εντατικό Πρόγραμμα Κολύμβησης για τρεις

εβδομάδες, από Δευτέρα έως Τετάρτη, ξεκινώντας τη

Δευτέρα 10 Φεβρουαρίου. Περαιτέρω πληροφορίες

καθώς και η αίτηση άδειας θα δοθεί στους μαθητές

όταν θα επιστρέψουν πίσω στο Σχολείο το 2020.

Ομάδα Σχολικών Αρχηγών του 2020

Συγχαρητήρια στους επόμενους μαθητές που

εκλέχθηκαν από τους μαθητές και το διδακτικό

προσωπικό για να απαρτίσουν την Ομάδα των

Σχολικών Αρχηγών του 2020. Θα ήθελα να συγχαρώ

την ομάδα Σχολικών Αρχηγών του 2019 που

επιτέλεσαν το καθήκον τους με μεγάλη επιτυχία και

2019. Το 2020 θα συνεχιστούν αυτές οι Ομάδες

Τα τετράδια των μαθητών της Γ΄ -Στ΄ Δημοτικού δε θα

πρέπει να καλύπτονται. Το σχολείο έχει παραγγείλει

πλαστικά καλύμματα προστασίας των τετραδίων που

μπορείτε να αγοράσετε στην αρχή της χρονιάς έναντι

15 δολαρίων. Τα παλιά τετράδια θα αντικαθιστούνται

από καινούρια τετράδια με καινούργια όταν γεμίσουν.

Δεν θα πρέπει να συρράπτονται τα παλιά με τα

καινούρια τετράδια. Μην αγοράζετε τετράδια του

τύπου Α4 γιατί δεν θα χωρέσουν στα πλαστικά



καλύμματα. Ο αριθμός των σελίδων του κάθε

τετραδίου είναι ενδεικτικός και εξαρτάται από το

μάθημα. Μπορείτε λοιπόν να αγοράζεται τετράδια

που έχουν περίπου τον ίδιο αριθμό σελίδων.

Νεα Του Γυμνασιου Α΄ Λυκείου – Επίσκεψη σε Φιλανθρωπικούς Οργανισμούς (Community Service) Οι μαθητές της Α΄ Λυκείου είχαν την ευκαιρία να

επισκεφτούν διάφορους φιλανθρωπικούς

οργανισμούς και να λάβουν μέρος σε διάφορες

δραστηριότητες. Οι μαθητές μας είχαν την ευκαιρία να

επισκεφτούν το Γηροκομείο της Βασιλειάδας, την

Εκκλησία των Αγίων Κωνσταντίνου και Ελένης – στην

προετοιμασία των καθημερινών γευμάτων-ως επίσης

και τον οργανισμό Meals on Wheels. Επίσης, δόθηκε η

ευκαιρία στους μαθητές μας να μαζέψουν κονσέρβες,

ρουχισμό, παιχνίδια και άλλα είδη για τον κόσμο που

έχει ανάγκη.

ΘΕΙΑ ΚΟΙΝΩΝΙΑ Την Τετάρτη 11 Δεκεμβρίου θα έχουμε εκκλησιασμό

για όλους τους μαθητές. Οι μαθητές ενθαρρύνονται να

προετοιμαστούν κατάλληλα για να έχουν την ευκαιρία

να μεταλάβουν.

ΑΠΟΝΟΜΗ ΒΡΑΒΕΙΩΝ Ο Διευθυντής και οι καθηγητές του Κολλεγίου

προσκαλούν τους γονείς/κηδεμόνες, μαθητές και

φίλους στην ετήσια βραδιά Απονομής Βραβείων. Η

βραδιά έχει οργανωθεί για την Τετάρτη 11

Δεκεμβρίου, ώρα 6.30μ.μ. στην αίθουσα του

σχολείου. Η Απονομή Βραβείων είναι μια σημαντική

βραδιά γιατί δίνεται η ευκαιρία στους μαθητές να

βραβευτούν για τις ακαδημαϊκές ικανότητές τους. Οι

μαθητές πρέπει να παρευρεθούν με την σχολική στολή

τους.
