SCRIPTURAL ROSARY Saturday, June 9, from noon to 1:15 PM in the upper
church. All are welcome to come and pray the sorrowful and glorious mysteries of the Scriptural Rosary for
peace, for a return of all brothers and sisters to the faith and, especially this month for our beloved fathers.
Personal petitions are welcome as well.
CATHOLIC APPEAL UPDATE To date St. Barbara’s Parish has pledged $50,059 to to
the Boston Catholic Appeal. Thank you to all who have generously donated so far. As we would like to close out our pledge campaign before the start of summer, we ask
that, if you have not already donated, please consider helping us raise an additional $3,201. If we are
successful in doing that, we can proudly say that we have consistently reached or surpassed our Catholic goal for the past 6 years. Also remember that our
parish will receive a percentage rebate for every dollar above our assessment $27,534. Thank you again for
your generosity of heart.

WORKSHOP ON VISITING THE SICK Saturdays, June 16 and 23, 2018 a workshop on
Pastoral Care to the Sick and the Homebound will be offered at St. Barbara’s, Woburn from 9:00 AM to
3:00 PM. Timothy Duff, a certified chaplain, will teach the course.
The workshop will include a review of communication skills, the basics of pastoral
visitation, key illness issues, spiritual needs and con-cerns, grief, loss and dying, and caregiving issues.
Eucharistic ministers, pastoral visitors, parish nurs-es and others are encouraged to attend. Fee: $40. Registration information is available in the Parish
Office or call 617-746-5843.
PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Please register by June 13.
Helpful Information about our new Collaborative • Our collaborative will be known as the Woburn Catholic Collaborative of St. Anthony of
Padua and St. Barbara parishes. • Clergy assigned by the Archdiocese of Boston to the Woburn Catholic Collaborative are Fr.
Thomas Powers, Fr. Edmund Ugwoegbu, Deacon Edward Giordano and Deacon William Kerns.
• Priests assigned to the collaborative will live at the St. Barbara parish rectory. • Each parish will continue to have its own telephone number. The method responding to calls
will change to ensure adequate coverage in both parishes. • The Parish Pastoral Councils of both parishes will begin meeting together on a regular basis. • Each parish will have its own Finance Council that will begin meeting separately and togeth-
er on a regular basis depending upon needs. • Names of the all council members will appear in both bulletins….more to follow
