Sunday Breakfast Third Sunday Breakfast. Knights of Columbus in Scott City will host their 3rd Sunday breakfast on Sunday, August 16th from 7:30-10:30 am. Diocesan Wedding Anniversary Mass CANCELED Given the risks related to COVID-19 to those who might attend, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Annual Wedding Anniversary Celebrations. Despite these circumstances, Bishop Edward Rice desires to affirm and celebrate the love of all married couples with an Epis-copal Blessing. Those celebrating 25 and 50 years of mar-riage will also receive a special gift. 40 Hours of Adoration Forty hours of Adoration at St. Augustine Church will be held on Wednesdays from 8 am to 6 pm and on Thursdays starting at 8 am and continuing until Friday at 3 PM. Position Openings St. Augustine School in Kelso, MO has a Custodial Staff Position opening. This posi-tion begins in August and is a full-time po-sition with benefits. This individual will be

responsible for disinfecting the school each day. St. Augus-tine School is also accepting applications for a part-time cook working 4 hours per day, 5 days per week. Each posi-tion pays $9.45 per hour. Must complete VIRTUS training, background check and sign a code of conduct upon hire. St. Joseph School Summer Office Hours St. Joseph School’s Summer Office hours are on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 am to noon. The parish office will remain open normal hours Tues, Wed, Thurs, 8:30-2:30.

Confirmation—Next Class is Today, August 9th Welcome back! Classes will resume on Sunday, August 9th (please wear masks and use social distancing). This could change depending on the pandemic. Classes for students in grades 7, 8 & 9 will be held

at St. Joseph. Meet in church for Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at 6:30 PM. Benediction at 8 PM. Classes for High School students in grades 10, 11 & 12 will be held at St. Augustine. Meet in church for Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at 7 PM. Benediction at 8:30 PM. Par-ents, Families and Parishioners are invited and encouraged to stay for Adoration while maintaining social distancing. We will be working on our Saint Posters. COME PRE-PARED!!! The info sheet was sent on remind and in last week’s bulletins, look for it, print it, BRING IT WITH YOU. Also you must attend a retreat before confirmation. There are 3 options. The first one is Saturday, August 15th at Jackson KC hall. You must register by August 10th. It is an all day event. The second one is Saturday, August 29th at St. Vincent’s in Cape Girardeau—again ALL day event. Look for more details about this at August 9th’s Class. The third option will be at the end of Septem-ber and will be two 6 hour days at St. Augustine. For ques-tions, please see your group leader.

Diocesan Development Fund Appeal

To date, St. Augustine Parish has received $37,850 (Goal: $68,751) and St. Joseph Parish has received $13,620 (Goal: $18,080). If you have not yet made your pledge, please prayerfully consider a gift in the amount you are able to contribute. Across the diocese, $1,684,917 has been pledged toward the $2,650,000 goal. The diocese & Church in southern Missouri ask for your prayers and participation.

Red Cross Blood Drive The St. Augustine School, Ladies Sodality, and KC’s will host a blood drive on Monday, August 31st from 2:30-6:30 at the KC Hall Upper Level. Incentive prizes will be given to student classes for signing up family members and friends to come donate. There will be Covid 19 testing

added for everyone who donates. You can go to the Red Cross Blood website to sign up. Please open your hearts and be generous by donating! Thank you, Ladies Sodality.
