The Missionaries of the Precious Blood

On August 15, 2015, the Missionaries of the Precious Blood (C.PP.S.) will celebrate the 200th anniversary of their founding. Their members minister in our St. Augustine

parish. Over the course of the next year, we will join in their celebration by sharing the story of the C.PP.S., and learning about

their spirituality and mission. ***************************************************************************

Did you know???

St. Gaspar del Bufalo, founder of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood, was born of humble parents. His father was a cook in a palace, and was also something of a showman. He was an

entrepreneur whose efforts at organizing entertainment events were not always successful. It is thought that Gaspar may have gotten some of his abilities to attract crowds from his father.

Gaspar’s mother was a pious woman who had a great influence on his life. What traits did our parents give to us that help us in our lives as Christians? Courage, commitment, curiosity, caution?

What will we pass along to our children?

St. Augustine Catholic Parish Fund By making a gift to the St. Augustine Catholic Parish Fund,

you’ll be providing perpetual financial support. It’s a wonderful way to demonstrate your stewardship and pass on your faith and love for St. Augustine Parish. Contact the parish office to learn more.

Second Collection Support Religious Communities. Your gift to today’s collection for the Retirement Fund for Religious provides vital support for the retirement needs of senior sisters, brothers, and religious order priests. It also helps ensure that younger members can continue

the good works of their elders!

Thank you!

Please note that Mass will not be held at the Care Center this Wednesday, the 14th. Father will be out of town for a meeting. The next Care Center Mass will be held on January 28th. Thank you to all of our volunteers that help provide God’s word and presence to those that are unable to come to weekend services!

We Need Volunteers for Our Ministries! Can you Help? We are in need of additional care minister and homebound ministers, greeters, lectors, and

serve Christ through one of these important ministries? If you are interested, contact Marie Oliver at 866-5351 or [email protected]. We will have a Eucharistic minister training this Sunday,
