October 27 ~ Thirtieth Sunday of Ordinary Time, Brief Thought

The Pharisee in today’s gospel did not really go to pray; he went to inform God how good he was. The tax collector on the other hand prayed with hu-mility, “O God, be merciful to me a sinner.” This parable tells us important things about prayer. When praying, don’t hold yourself above others, as the Pharisee did, instead pray with humility, see yourself like others – a sinner among sinners all in need of God’s mercy! Take time to pray this week, calling to mind the words of the psalmist: “The Lord hears the cry of the poor.”

World Mission Sunday, last Week Second Collection

Last week’s second collection that supports Catho-lic World Missions raised $1,934.00 .that has been sent to the Archdioceses of Boston. Thank You for your generosity. World Mission Sunday gathers support for the pasto-ral and evangelization programs and needs of more than 1,150 mission dioceses in Africa, Asia, the Pa-cific Islands, and remote regions of Latin America. The funds gathered on World Mission Sunday are distributed in the pope’s name by the Society for the Propagation of the Faith—a Pontifical Mission Soci-ety. ANUNCIOS COMUNITÁRIOS COMUNIDADE BRASILEIRA DE EVERETT

BATISMO: O batismo acontece todo pr imeiro Sábado de cada mês. O curso de preparação para o batismo é sempre no último Sábado do mês, é obrigatório que pais e padrinhos façam o curso de preparação para o batismo. É necessário a certidão de nascimento e o preenchimento do formulário de batismo que poderá ser feito no Centro Scalabrini de Segunda a Sexta, no horário de 5pm as 8pm ou na casa paroquial de 9am as 5pm.

MATRIMÔNIO: Os matr imônios na nossa comunidade são aos sábados no horário de 5:30pm. Os noivos devem escolher a data, marcar horário com o padre no mínimo 6 meses antes do casamento para providenciar a documentação necessária.

Terço e benção da casa: A pastoral da família juntamente com o padre reza o terço nas casas toda Segunda feira às 7:30 da noite. Se você estiver interessado é só deixar o nome e número de telefone depois das missas ou na secretaria.

GRUPO DE JOVENS: Temos encontro do grupo de jovens todo 2º e 4º Domingo do mês às 3 da tarde na quadra da escola. Para jovens de 14 a 21 anos.

Atendimento com padre Olmes: Segunda, Terça, Quinta e Sexta de 5 as 8 da noite no Centro Scalabrini.

AVISOS PARROQUIALES

BAUTIZOS: Recordamos a la comunidad que todos los meses tenemos bautizos los últimos sábados de cada mes a las 12:00. Se tienen que registrar con anticipación al día de las clases bautismales. Los padrinos si están juntos tienen que ser casados por lo católico, o solteros mayores de 16 años. Tie-nen que tener los sacramentos de iniciación cristiana. Para las registraciones, se hacen en la oficina parroquial de lunes a vier-nes, desde las 9:00 am hasta las 5:00 pm y se debe traer el cer-tificado de nacimiento de niño/a y nombre de los padrinos.

CONMEMORACIÓN DE LOS DIFUNTOS: le quere-mos avisar a la comunidad que los sobres para las intenciones del 02 y 03 de noviembre, los pueden encontrar a la salida del templo o en la sacristía. También el sábado 02 de noviembre tendremos la hora Santa por benditas almas del purgatorio a las 5:30 pm. Todos estamos cordialmente invitados a rezar por nuestros seres queridos que se han ido a la casa del Padre Dios.

PASTORAL PRO-VIDA: La pastoral de pro-vida invita a la comunidad a participar todos los segundos sábados de cada mes para ir a las clínicas de aborto y rezar el Santo Rosario en favor de la vida. Se sale al frente de la iglesia a las 9:30 am. Para más información por favor hablar con la hermana Karina Salazar.
