ATTENTION 8TH GRADE STUDENTS:

The Daughters of Isabella, St. Anne’s Circle # 1332, will again fund three $300.00 scholarships to St. Anne’s Parish 8

th graders

and/or St. Anne’s School (boys and girls) planning to attend St. Mary’s High School in the fall of 2017. To

receive an application, please call Yvonne Ritter at 745-3304 or email at ritterjyvonne@att.net. Applications will be sent upon request and will include the return date and further instructions. All judging will be done anonymously by the committee members.

"Giving the Gift of Faith Tree"

St. Anne’s Church has about 200 candidates to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. As part of their formation process, the candidates attend a 3 day retreat, hosted by the Office of Youth & Young Adult Ministry. On these retreats, the teens

dive deeper into their faith and see other young people, like themselves, living out their faith. Unfortunately, this weekend costs $125 per student to attend, which can be difficult for some families. In an effort to provide the youth with this beautiful experience, we need your help.

You can help our young Catholics grow

into a deeper relationship with Christ by: 1. Visiting our “Giving the Gift of Faith” tree on the back

walls of the church every weekend in December. 2. Picking up an ornament and envelope with a

confirmation student’s name. 3. Placing your donation in the envelope and dropping it off

in the Parish Office. 4. Please keep the ornament, place it on your Christmas

tree and pray for that student for the Advent and Christmas Seasons.

We thank you for your support! Please pray for

these young people preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation this coming year.

CHRISTMAS EVE MASS CHILDREN’S CHOIR

All Children from St. Anne’s Parish are invited to be a part of the Children’s Christmas Eve Mass Choir hosted by St. Anne’s School.

Children must be at the Church by 4:00pm on Saturday, December 24th.

ATENCIÓN ESTUDIANTES DE OCTAVO GRADO: Las Hijas de Isabela, del Círculo # 1332 de Santa Ana,

ofrecen financiar tres becas de $300.00 a feligreses del 8 º grado y/o a estudiantes de la Escuela de Santa Ana (niños y niñas) que planean asistir a la Escuela Secundaria Santa María en el otoño de 2017. Para recibir una solicitud, por favor llame a Yvonne Ritter al

"Dando el Don de la Fe" La Iglesia Santa Ana tiene 200 candidatos preparándose para recibir el Sacramento de Confirmación. Como parte del proceso de formación, los candidatos asisten a un retiro de 3 días, organizado por la Oficina de Ministerio a Jóvenes y Jóvenes Adultos. En estos retiros, los

adolescentes se profundizan en su fe y ven a otros jóvenes, como ellos, viviendo su fe. Desafortunadamente este retiro cuesta $125 por cada estudiante lo cual puede ser difícil para algunas familias. En un esfuerzo para proveerles esta experiencia a los jóvenes, necesitamos su ayuda.

Usted puede ayudar a nuestros Jóvenes Católicos profundizar su relación con Cristo:

1. Visitando nuestro árbol “Dando el Don de la Fe” en el vestíbulo de la Iglesia cada fin de semana de Diciembre.

2. Recogiendo un ornamento y un sobre con el nombre de un estudiante de Confirmación.

3. Colocando su donación en el sobre y entregándolo en la Oficina Parroquial.

4. Por favor, quédese con su ornamento, colóquelo en su árbol de Navidad, y rece por ese estudiante durante las temporadas de Adviento y Navidad.

PREPARE THE WAY Saint John the Baptist appears on the scene today as Advent enters its second week. The mysterious consumer of locusts and wild honey, John echoes the words of the prophet Isaiah as he calls for repentance in the face of the nearness of the kingdom of heaven. The rhythms of the Christian life are often confounding. Each year we meet the Baptist and hear his calls for repentance. Each year we see him pointing to the

one who is coming after him, the Lord Jesus. Yet each year the words and actions of John the Baptist echo anew in our hearts, because we have fallen into old sinful traps again and again. Advent gives us the opportunity once again to turn away from our sinful ways and embrace the gospel way of life. John the Baptist invites us to prepare the way for the Lord, in whom we place our hope.

PREPARA EL CAMINO San Juan Bautista aparece hoy cuando el Adviento comienza su segunda semana. Juan, el misterioso consumidor de saltamontes y miel silvestre, hace eco de las palabras del profeta Isaías en su llamado al arrepentimiento en la cercanía del Reino de los cielos. Los ritmos de la vida cristiana son muchas veces confusos. Todos los años conocemos a Juan Bautista y oímos su llamado al arrepentimiento. Todos los años lo vemos señalando al que vendrá después de él, al Señor Jesús. Sin embargo, cada año las palabras y las acciones de Juan Bautista hacen eco de nuevo en nuestro corazón, porque hemos caído una y otra vez en antiguas trampas pecaminosas. El Adviento nos da otra oportunidad para alejarnos del camino del pecado y aceptar el modo de vida del Evangelio. Juan Bautista nos invita a preparar el camino para el Señor en quien depositamos nuestra esperanza.
