Body of Christ We are the work of the Creator
We are the body of Christ We all have a place
We are the body of Christ Heads for thinking
We are the body of Christ Hands for working
We are the body of Christ Feet for walking
We are the body of Christ Hearts for loving
We are the body of Christ Shoulders for carrying
We are the body of Christ Ears for hearing
We are the body of Christ Mouths for praising
We are the body of Christ Eyes for watching
We are the body of Christ We are Christ’s hand in this world
We are the body of Christ What he started we will continue
We are the body of Christ Christ is alive in this world
We are the body of Christ He lives in us
We are the body of Christ Amen.
I came across this prayer as I was cleaning out my old office. This was a theme that was used for a
St. Andrew’s youth Back-To-School-Retreat at Camp Cho-Yeh a long time ago. Here lately, I have read it over and over and as I do, I am filled with a sense of
thanksgiving. As Christians we are a part of something bigger than ourselves. We were created to be connected to God the Father, God the Son,
and God the Holy Spirit as part of who we are. We were also created to be connected to a community of faith. That is who we are at St. Andrew’s. In these days of uncertainty, these are some things that we
should feel quite sure of!
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not
perish but may have eternal life.” John 3:16
As the prayer above reads … What he started we will continue …
We are the body of Christ! Amen.
