ST ALBANS ON TOUR 2013This season, St Albans have continued where they left off following last year’s treble
winning campaign. The squad have again achieved the double, winning both the Cardiff & District U15 A Division and Cup. And they have again won every league and cup game. This means that from the beginning of last season to the end of this season, this talented squad of players have won 63 consecutive games in Cardiff and South Wales cup and league football.
To round off the season St Albans U15 are going on tour and have entered the Bolton Cup on the 25th and 26th May, the final of which is being held at the Reebok Stadium.
The St Albans squad will be travelling by coach, which will pick up players and supporters on Friday afternoon, 24th May at the St Albans clubhouse. The coach will be leaving at 1 pm.

St Albans Record RunWith a 3 - 0 win over Pentwyn in the Cup Final on 10 May, 2013 St Albans added the Cardiff & District Cup to the League title secured two weeks previously. It was also St Albans second consecutive ‘Double’. This season’s achievement follows on from the 2011/12 campaign, which was the most successful in this St Albans team’s history. During the course of last season the squad won all their games and gained three trophies – the South Wales Tesco Cup, the Cardiff & District League title and the Cardiff & District Cup, awarded for the first time in honour of the Cardiff City legend, Brian Clark. St Albans manager, Jason Matthews, has gathered together a talented group of players who have become one of the strongest squads to have emerged from the Cardiff & District league for a number of years.Jason said: “It is a fantastic sense of achievement when this St Albans team wins trophies. But we want the players to keep progressing and to keep developing as a club. We constantly look to enhance the skills of our players and to present them with new challenges. All the players have their own unique footballing skills, but they have also developed a positive and supportive attitude, and work hard for the team. It is important that St Albans players continue to progress, not just as individuals but by recognising what they can achieve together. “‘I’m pleased to see the St Albans team approach and ethos has paid off again this year. The players have continued the winning run in cup and league games that began in 2011. Since the end of the 2010/11 season, the St Albans squad has now won 63 consecutive games. Jason added: ‘We would like to think that achieving the treble in 2011/12 and our continuing success this season is proof of our positive approach. ‘We are looking forward to the Bolton Tournament. It is something of a reward for the players’ hard work this season. It will be a positive experience and will bond the team further as we look ahead to the challenges of next season.

Things to Bring!
Players need to make sure they have all their kit - shirt, shorts, socks, shin pads, football boots, water bottle. It is also important that players bring any medical items they might need such as inhalers. Being prepared for the weather - come rain or shine - will ensure you enjoy the event. A cap or hat of some kind will keep off the sun or rain. I know it’s Lancashire but take some sun cream just in case! Don’t forget to bring your mobile phone chargers and any other gadgets that you can’t live without. No need to bring energy drinks or snacks as the hotel is right next to a Tesco Extra.
