CALL FOR PAPERS
for Special Section on
Editor-in-Chief: Bogdan M. Wilamowski, http://tii.ieee-ies.org/ [email protected] tel: +1-334-844-1629, fax: +1-334-841888, Director of Alabama Nano/Micro Science and Technology Center, Auburn University, 200 Broun Hall, AL 36849-5201, USA.
Modeling and Simulation of Cyber-Physical Energy SystemsThe Theme: Modern energy systems combine information technology, electrical and thermal infrastructure, and autonomous rol
interact with other systems like markets and regulations. Existing modeling and simulation tools are not capable to cover such systems all of their aspects, new languages, methods and tools are necessary. A combination of universal modeling languages and establishe
specialized tools like grid simulators and telecommunication simulators is necessary. This leads to modeling and co-simulating hybr
systems where for instance a multi-agent framework and an electric grid simulator are combined to investigate smart electric vehic
charging algorithms. It is especially the potential size of such systems that constitute a challenge for modeling and simulatio
Implementing future Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) is another substantial challenge. The designed algorithms need to be compac
computationally inexpensive, potentially self-organizing and intrinsically stable if applied to real energy systems. New methods an
alternative ways are necessary to overcome these challenges. This Special Section on Modeling and Simulation of Cyber-Physic
Energy Systems is focused on the development, adoption and application of modeling and simulation tools for Cyber-Physical Ener
Systems. Topics include, but are not limited to, the following research topics and technologies:
Hybrid modeling and simulation Co-Simulation High-performance computing Analytics of system data Ontologies for energy systems Applications of cyber-physical energy systems Distributed algorithms and control Standards in interfacing components Numerics for hybrid and co-simulation Formal languages for energy systems Smart Grid modeling and control Demand response and power quality Information and communication technology for intelligent energy systems Smart Grids Planning Multi-agent systems for Smart Grids Soft computing methods for Smart Grids
Management of distributed power generation and Virtual Power Plants Smart electric vehicles management tools
Manuscript Preparation and SubmissionFollow the guidelines in Information for Authors in the IEEE Transaction on Industrial Informatics http://tii.ieee-ies.org/
Please submit your manuscript in electronic form through Manuscript Central web site: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/tii. On the
submitting page #1 in popup menu of manuscript type, select: SS on Cyber-Physical Energy SystemsSubmissions to this Special Section must represent original material that has been neither submitted to, nor published in, any other
journal. Extended versions of papers previously published in conference proceedings may be eligible for consideration if conditions liste
inhttp://tii.ieee-ies.org/o/PC.pdfare fulfilled. Before submitting manuscript check the review criteria (http://tii.ieee-ies.org/o/RC.pdf) a
other information (http://tii.ieee-ies.org/o/DI.pdf)
Note: The recommended papers for the section are subject to final approval by the Editor-in-Chief. Some papers may be published
outside the special section, at the EIC discretion.
Timetable: Deadline for manuscript submissions September 30, 2013
