Why ACS for SRT?
Strong and reliable software framework to monitor and control all the antenna devices
User’s contribute area for software exchanging
Remotely controllable
Notification channels
Events and alarm logging system
Load balancing and failure tolerance features
Platform and license free system
Emerging standard in radiotelescope control

We will use ACS to control:
the telescope pointing
the active-surface system
the three-foci configuration
the receivers
the antenna calibration
the single dish observations
the sources and observations catalog

What we are doing with ACS:
Server/Component side
MEDACU: component to control the Medicina Antenna Control Unit (ACU) which is similar to the future SRT ACU
LAN, USD: a set of components to control the active surface
IRALibrary: a bunch of tools common to all our modules

What we are doing with ACS:
Client side
A series of textual and graphical client (QT) for our components
and
a graphical library (IRAGraphics, QT) that we use to monitor
physical properties, to make maps, Fourier analisys, ecc
