As soon as the House met, the Con- gress members stood up, demand- ing the Government should table the inquiry report into the alleged land grab by the BJP Minister Abdul Ghani Kohli. “The inquiry report by the Dis- trict Development Commissioner has indicted him. Why is govern- ment silent on the report?” asked Congress MLA Nawang Rigzin Jora. He was joined by other members of Congress in the chorus for sacking of the Minister. Amid continued slogan- eering the members came in the Well. “Corrupt Sarkar Hai Hai, Chor Sarkar Hai Hai,” shouted the Con- gress members. Amid chaos in the House, some members from National Conference stood up demanding action in the case. At this moment, Minister for CAPD, Choudhary Zulfikar inter- vened, informing the House that the case was sub judice and hence the issue can’t be discussed in the House. “If the matter can’t be discussed in the House, let the Government table the inquiry report so that the members are also taken into confi- dence on the issue,” demanded the Congress members. Thumping the benches, the oppo- sition members continued with the demand for the tabling of the report in the House. Trying to pacify the members, the Speaker Kavinder Gupta intervened: “We can’t have a discussion on the issue as the matter is in the court.” But his response didn’t satisfy the opposition members who continued with the protests in the Well, disputing the proceedings in the House. SPU Jodhpur students meet Governor Plan for better road connectivity formulated: Veeri Srinagar, June 2: Minister for Public Works and Par- liamentary Affairs, Abdul Rehman Veeri today said that Government has formu- lated a comprehensive plan for better road connectivity across the State. The Minister said that the Pre-Empowered Committee meeting held at New Delhi has already given go ahead to the road projects of the State sanctioned under PMGSY phase-X, adding that these project would be taken up shortly after completing neces- sary codal formalities. He said upgrading road infrastructure is pivotal for all-round devel- opment of the State. The Minister was responding to supplemen- taries raised by some mem- bers to the main questions of Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi and Rajiv Jasrotia. He said roads awaiting Forest clear- ances would be taken up on priority, so that work on these roads is completed at an earliest, adding that the macdamization work of the roads targeted during this fiscal by the Government would be also completed. The Public Works Min- ister said that Government prioritized development of public utility infrastructure in Srinagar city under vari- ous schemes. GKNN ALTAF BABA Baramulla, June 2: Around fourteen students who are part of inter-district Khokho tournament organized at Girls Higher Secondary School Singhpora Kalan here were hospitalized Thursday after they complained of vomiting and abdominal pain. According to reports, the stu- dents were participating in the event organized by State Sports Council and fell sick after consum- ing dinner Thursday evening. Hospital authorities while confirming the incident said that all the sick students were treated at the hospital and were later discharged after neces- sary treatment. "These students had developed abdominal pain and were vomiting at the time of being admitted in the hospital. They were provided necessary treatment and were discharged later," said Dr Govinder, Deputy Medical Superintendent Baram- ulla district hospital. "We are looking into the matter and are trying to ascer- tain how these students had developed such symptoms during the event," said Imtiyaz Ahmad, SSP Baramulla. 14 students hospitalized after taking dinner at sports event

Baramulla, June 2: Around fourteen students who are part of inter-district Khokho tournament organized at Girls Higher Secondary School Singhpora Kalan here were hospitalized Thursday after they complained of vomiting and abdominal pain.

According to reports, the stu-dents were participating in the event organized by State Sports Council and fell sick after consum-ing dinner Thursday evening.

Hospital authorities while confirming the incident said

that all the sick students were treated at the hospital and were later discharged after neces-sary treatment. "These students had developed abdominal pain and were vomiting at the time of being admitted in the hospital. They were provided necessary treatment and were discharged later," said Dr Govinder, Deputy Medical Superintendent Baram-ulla district hospital.

"We are looking into the matter and are trying to ascer-tain how these students had developed such symptoms during the event," said Imtiyaz Ahmad, SSP Baramulla.
