INTERNATIONAL TIGER DAY

International tiger day is an annual celebration to raise

awareness for tiger conservation which is held on 29 July

.It was created in 2010 at The Saint Petersburg tiger

summit. There are 50 tiger reserves in India which are

governed by Project Tiger which is administrated by

The National Tiger Conservation Authority. These

reserves are protecting the tigers and their habitats,

conducting strategies, promoting tiger friendly policies,

monitoring tiger population by pug mark method ,

poop/scat method and radio collar method.

Pug mark method:- In this method, the pug mark i.e.,

the foot print of the tiger is considered. (each pug mark is

unique). After analyzing various foot prints, the number

of tigers in that area is counted.

Poop/scat method:- In this method, the number of

tigers is counted by poop/scat. The poop is analyzed by

DNA sampling and accurate count is derived.

Radio collar method:- In this method, tigers are

captured and are fitted with a radio collar by which tigers

are counted.

Tigers are seen as threats to human communities.

Tigers are illegally killed or poached because their pelts

are valuable in the black market trade and their body

parts are used in traditional Asian medicines.

“SWAMI VIVEKANANDA”

Arise! Awake! And stop not till the goal is reached!

Character has to be established through a thousand

stumbles.

All the power is within you. Do not believe that you are

weak. You can do anything and everything.

Hold the ideal a thousand times, and if you fail a

thousand times, make an attempt once more.

Stand up; be bold; be strong. And know that you are the

creator of your destiny.

The secret of success is to pay as much attention to the

mean as to the end.

All great undertakings are achieved through mighty

obstacles. The remedy for weakness is not brooding over

weakness, but thinking of strength.

The secret of Religion lies not in theories but in

practice. To be good and to do good – that is the whole of

every religion.

- M. Varenya, VI A

Three things are necessary

to make every man great;

every Nation great.

Conviction of the

power of goodness.

Absence of jealousy

and suspicion.

Helping all who are

trying to be and to do

good.

Apples, pears, peaches, plums, strawberries, cherries, and almonds all belong to the

The word “unfriend” was first used in 1659.

If you were to write out every number (one, two, three, etc.), you wouldn’t use the

letter “b” until you reached one billion.

There are 10 quintillion (10,000,000,000,000,000,000) insects alive at any time.

The Olympic games were originally a religious festival.

Humans move their eyes more 100,000 times a day.
