Outcome of Linkages

The college has made different linkages during last five years. These linkages are primarily

developed for Knowledge improvement of faculty members and students in Research

Internship and Field trip in Science,Commerce and Management subjects The benefits

Pasteur Institute of India, Coonoor

B.Sc Biotechnology students visited the Pasteur Institute on 20th Feb 2014. It is a French

nonprofit private foundation dedicated to the study of Biology, Micro organisms, diseases

and vaccines. Today the Institute Pasteur is one of the world’s leading research centre

situated in Coonoor, Ooty, Tamil Nadu.Students gained knowledge about the vaccine

production and job opportunities in research institutes.

Sri Krishna Deva Raja Agro Industry, Krishnagiri

Students were taken to the Sri Krishna Deva Raja Agro Industry, Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu

23rd July 2014.This industry mainly concentrates on Mango pulp production .Students

gained knowledge about the different stages in the mango pulp production and its quality

analysis using different parameters such as PH, sugar content, mineral content and microbial

analysis .

industries at Dasarahosahalli, Bangarpt on 28th Jan 2016 to gain practical

knowledge on the role of Life Sciences in pharmaceutical industries.

To provide greater exposure and first hand experience & to interact with the industry experts.

Minor and major industrial visits were organized based on the curriculum by the

Gene win Biotech Pvt Ltd (ISO certified company) Hosur

B.Sc Biotechnology students visited Gene win Biotech Pvt Ltd ISO certified company , Hosur,

Tamil Nadu on 3rd Aug 2016 and gained knowledge on production of different varieties of fruits

vegetables and ornamental plants. Students underwent one day wet –lab training in ‘plant tissue

culture’.60 students and 5 faculty members actively participated in this visit

The department of Life Sciences organized industrial visit to KOMUL diary,Kolar on 6th

January 2017. 60 B.Sc Biotechnology students accompanied by the 5 faculty members for

the visit.The experts explained the processes of manufacturing sachet milk and milk product

and briefed about the activities of the Komul dairy, Kolar.

In our endeavour of nation building, educating the young minds plays a vital role and hence

the practical exposure to visit industries formulates part of the education process. The final

Year B.Com students visited Volvo company on 26th September 2017 where the production,

assembling units, dying units and working process were explained by Mr Nazeer Ali,

Production Department.

Visit to Rasi Pharmaceutical Industry

The B.Sc Biotechonology students visited Rasi Pharmaceutical Industry and Borotek private

limited, Dasarahosahalli, Banagarpet on 27th April 2019. The students gained knowledge on

the Quality assurance and Quality control departments role in the production of medicine.

Students also visited the small scale industries the Borotek private limited and observed the

manufacturing process of glasswares.

Internship

The final year BBM students are supported by the Department to take up internship in many

reputed companies for 30 days. The companies include BEML, Canara Bank, Pragathi

Gramnia Bank, John Deere, Big Bazaar, KMUL, Maruti Sureeksha, State Bank of India, TVS

etc.
