Even when there are numerous under- ground lines in a confined area, the tar- get line can be distinguished from the neighbouring lines by means of several active and advanced passive search modes. Simple to operate, simple to learn… You can check at any time whether or not you are still located over the target line by means of the continual display of depth and current and the selectable acoustic distance signal. The search result can be reliably verified via the easily under- standable cartographic display which shows di- rection arrows, signal strength and proxim- ity signal. The sensor-controlled automatic background lighting thereby guarantees optimum display at all times, even under poor lighting conditions. With the SR-20, you can carry out the most difficult localisations and mark supply lines reliably; even branch lines from other directions – and even lines whose existence was pre- viously completely unknown to you! Thanks to the extremely low weight and effective power management, even longer measurement operations can be carried out effectively without fatigue and in one session. The high processor performance of the system combined with advanced antenna technology and the user-friendly carto- graphic information display enable the rapid, precise and reliable localisation of underground supply lines.

Easy to operate professional system

Compact and sturdy

Advanced 3D-antenna technology

Cartographic real time information display

All values at a glance – distance, position, signal strength

Detects multiple pipes and cables

High flexibility due to various search modes

Active and passive search modesFour active search frequencies in the SR-20 provide the versatility that a complexsearch requires.

In combination with the passive searchfrequencies, you can now localise all sig-nals that are emitted by metallic pipesand cables within a certain area.

The advantages are obvious: Severalactive frequencies can be used to checkthe search result; passive modes enableverification of search results or the locali-sation of unknown pipes and cables, andextended power and radio modes assistthe user in effectively searching an area.

Everything on one display –everything at a glanceThe SR-20 provides you with precise po-sitional data and the routing of under-ground supply lines on a clear, easily un-derstandable real time display.

The permanent display of four differentlocalisation indicators supports more rapidand productive searching. Changes in thetarget signal can be recognised immedi-ately and the quality of the localisationcan be verified continually.

Innovative technology for effective measurement operationsThe device’s 3D-antenna system enablesboth inductive and passive localisation ofpipes and cables from any position and di-rection, independent of the user’s location.

This is an invaluable practical advantagewhen there are hindrances or in the vicin-ity of roads.

Additionally, the antenna technology en-ables the identification of all current-con-ducting cables within a certain area, re -gard less of their direction!

Even when there are numerous under-ground lines in a confined area, the tar-get line can be distinguished from theneighbouring lines by means of severalactive and advanced passive search modes.

Simple to operate, simple to learn…You can check at any time whether or notyou are still located over the target lineby means of the continual display of depthand current and the selectable acoustic distance signal.

The search result can be reliablyverified via the easily under -

standable cartographicdisplay which shows di-rection arrows, signal

strength and proxim-ity signal.

The sensor-controlledau to matic background

lighting thereby guaranteesoptimum display at all times,

even under poor lighting conditions.

With the SR-20, you can carry out themost difficult localisations and marksupply lines reliably; even branchlines from other directions – andeven lines whose existence was pre-viously completely unknown to you!

Thanks to the extremely low weight andeffective power management, even longermeasurement operations can be carriedout effectively without fatigue and in onesession.

The high processor performance of thesystem combined with advanced antennatechnology and the user-friendly carto-graphic information display enable therapid, precise and reliable localisation ofunderground supply lines.

SeekTech ST-510 transmitterCombine the SR-20 pipe and cable de-tector with the ST-510 transmitter forthe active localisation of pipes and ca-bles in five different frequency ranges.

The signals can be transferred via directterminal connection, inductively via a trans-mission coil, or optionally with an induc-tive signal clamp on underground metalpipes or cables, as required. If required, the cables can be extended by two 15 metre long cables.

The ST-510 has an induction-dependentacoustic signal generator, an energy-savingfunction with automatic power-off, and anLCD display with automatic backgroundlighting on which the line resistance, cur-rent flow and power are displayed.

1. Passive pipe and cable localisation

In passive mode, the SR-20 searchesfor electromagnetic “noise” in under-ground supply lines. Electromagnetic sig-nals can be induced in underground sup-ply lines in various ways.

For example, electrical appliances radi-ate these signals to a certain degree tothe electrical conductors to which theyare connected, or underground supplylines function as antennas for high-power,low-frequency radio transmissions andreflect these signals.

These current and radio frequencies canbe passively detected if the field strengthis sufficient and thus enable the locali-sation of the corresponding supply line.

2. Active pipe and cable localisation

In this mode, the supply line whose routeand position is to be determined is sup-plied with energy by a transmitter, forexample the ST-510, and the line is then

actively localised with the selected frequency.

3. Probe mode

Used for the localisation of the signalfrom a probe in pipes, cables or tunnelsthat do not conduct current or cannot belocalised by other means.

For example, the SeeSnake camerasystem for pipeline inspection can beused and the Flexmitter transmitter in-tegrated in the camera head can be pre-cisely located with the SR-20.

This combination is a particularly effective and precise method of locating leaks!

The optimum operation mode for every localisation taskThe SR-20 is a diagnostic device that detects the electromagnetic fields

emitted by underground objects. To this end, the detector can be used in three different operating modes:

Proximity signalShows the distance from the pipe and cableseeker to the signal source. Maximum sig-nal at the shortest distance from the target.

FrequencyShows the currently set search frequency.

ModeShows the currently set search mode in pictogram form.

Distance / DepthIs recorded continuously and displayed inreal time. Depth units can be displayed in metres or feet and inches, as desired.

Line routingShows position and direction of the target line.

Guide arrowGuides the user from his current position towards the target line.

Cross-hairShow the user’s position relative to the centre of the target.

Current strengthIs recorded continuously and displayed in real time.

Signal strengthShows the strength of the signal detected by the omnidirectional antenna.

Due to the intelligent display technology, the cartographic display changes auto-matically depending on the search modewhich is set or on the proximity to thetarget line, for example, as a zoom dis-play when approaching the target, or asa display of the transmitter position inprobe mode.

Without looking away from the displayor having to place the device aside, ad-justments of settings and modificationsof parameters can be made by one-han -ded operation of the neat operating panelduring the measurement.

It’s as easy as it looks…No complicated conversion of measured values, no interpretation of recordedmeasured values. Data acquisition and complex calculation processes proceedunnoticed in the background; the acquired signals are processed immediately, visually prepared as spatially-referenced information and displayed in real timeas a dynamic cartographic model.

Thanks to the SR-20’s cartographic indicator, all the required information is available at a glance on one display:
