A Bit About Myself: Hello dear residents, I’m glad to introduce myself, my name is Jose Flores Patino. I’m just a simple guy who was born and raised in a small town, Jalisco, Mexico. I came to this country at the age of 15 with a lot of motivation and dreams, like any other immigrant who comes to this great country, the USA. I started cooking at the age of 17, thanks to the help of my brother and mother. At the age of 19, I started to work in restaurants around Petaluma, Calif. until I got a chance to work at Springfield Place.

What Motivates Me: Definitely my family, friends and my nephews and nieces. I want to be an example for the future generations of my family by being good at what I do and always improving.

What’s Your Favorite Part of the Job?: My favorite part of the job is that I work with a lot of individuals from different backgrounds and different mindsets, so that always ends with many different and interesting conversations. And of course, always preparing and serving different types of food is my main motivation.

Something Special About Yourself That Our Residents Don’t Know: Besides being a cook, I’m a musician as well. I’ve been playing music all my life — trumpet, trombone, tuba, drums, some piano and accordion are the instruments I can play.

Message to the Residents: My main priority at work are my residents, so if there’s anything concerning our meals or the service that the department of food and beverages provides, I’m here to help.
