FEE WAIVER POLICY

It is the policy of the parks and recreation department that no child be denied access to basic recreation services because of inability to pay. The department will consider fee waiver requests based on a family’s present financial status.

Parents/Guardians must complete the recreation scholarship request forms, provide the required support documentation, and pay the reduced registration fee (if approved) February 4-6 from 4 - 5:30 pm at the Honey Bowen Building. No exceptions.

Fee waiver requests will be taken for youth, ages 0 –17 years of age, for all recreation services.

REGISTRATION FEE POLICYFor all team sports, registrations after the set registration date will incur an additional $10 fee for processing team rosters. OUT OF COUNTY POLICYAll the participants living outside of Bulloch County registering for programs will be required to pay an additional $10.00 out-of-county fee for each activity, each season or month.

REFUND POLICYRefunds will not be issued for with-drawal from a program that meets the minimum enrollment require-ments set by the department, except in the following cases: Cancellation by the registrant prior to one week before the program starts will result in a full refund. Cancellation by registrant one week or less prior to the program starting date will result in a full refund minus a $3.00 ser-vice charge. NO REFUND WILL BE GIVEN AFTER A PROGRAM HAS STARTED.

Effective immediately, there will be NO EXCEPTIONS to the Age Control Dates for ANY sport.

No child will be allowed to play out of his or her age category.

Co-Ed Play T-Ball league meets twice per week. T-Ball is for first-year players. Rookie is a coach-pitch league. The Rookie league is designed for 6 year olds who have participated in T-Ball and also for first year 7 year olds.

The fees for participation in adult athletics will be discussed at these meetings listed below. All meetings will be held at the Honey Bowen Building.

TumblingLearn basic tumbling skills along with the proper techniques. These are cheerleading-based classes for ages 3-12. Age control date is September 1, 2014. Statesboro Impact Soccer Skills ClinicDesigned to focus on individual skills. Players will work on foot skills that will improve dribbling and ball control through skill drills and fun activities. This clinic is designed to be a compliment to participation in Rec League Soccer. For boys & girls ages 7 to 14. Cost is $35.

Adult Tennis TournamentSBCPRD’s third annual Adult Tennis Tournament will be held this Spring!Saturday May 9, 2015 9 am start Fee: $20 / Player (May 10 also IF necessary for final matches) Men & Women Singles Ages 18 and over. Each age group will have two divisions: Intermediate & AdvancedFormat: Best 2 out of 3 sets; Consolation Bracket for first round loss.Includes Tennis Tshirt. Prizes and trophies will be awarded to finalists.

School Break Tennis Clinics Includes instruction, practice drills and match play to better prepare students for recreation, good sportsmanship, and competition. Tshirts for all participants. Gatorade provided each day. Pizza provided on Thursday.

This program is designed for youth and adults who have been diagnosed with an emotional, physical, or cognitive disability. Experience out-door fun and recreation while using the horse as a tool to improve posture, self-esteem, balance,

coordination and more! Classes are held at Fletcher Memorial Park on Lakev-iew Road in 4-week sessions.

Horseback Riding Lessons Lessons are for beginner to intermediate levels. Ages 5 - 18 (as of September 1, 2014) years old. Held at Fletcher Park on Lakeview Road. Interested in horseback riding? Whether you want to ride English or Western get started with the basics of good riding skills. You can gain so much from riding lessons such as; patience, compassion for another being, responsibility, sportsmanship, and pure enjoyment with the outdoors. Make sure to wear something comfortable, preferably pants or jeans and closed toe shoes (boots or tennis shoes). March 9 - April 24 Mon - Fri $150 for a 6 week session (Rider chooses 1 day a week for a 45-minute time slot between 3 and 8 pm)

“Our Time”After school care until 6 p.m., “Our Time” offers a structured, supervised after school program for students in the Bulloch County

School System, Pre-K through 5th grade.

SpecialistsSBCPRD strives to provide quality individualized care for children with disabilities based on the specific needs of the child. The “Specialists” program is an inclusive program, which meets in conjunction with the “Our Time” and R.E.C.E.S. programs. The “Specialists” program provides recreational and enrichment activities which allow children with disabil-ities to participate as they can, making adaptations and modifications to accommodate special needs. Fees for this program are the same as “Our Time” and R.E.C.E.S.

2015 School Year. Prepayment for each

session is required one week in advance. You

may pre-pay for as many sessions as you choose. The required registration

fee per child is non-deductible and

non-refundable. **Session fees are due one week in advance.

10 CAMP ADVENTURE & TRIATHLON & EGG DIVE

Camp Adventure DaysThe Statesboro Bulloch County Parks and Recreation Department offers full day activities (7:15 a.m. - 6 p.m.) for children who are out of school for hol-idays and in-service days. This camp is held at the former Julia P Bryant El-ementary School on Stockyard Road in Statesboro. The upcoming full days include the following dates:

Lifeguard Training Description: Get certified as a lifeguard through Starfish Aquatics! You’ll learn all the ins and outs of what it takes to be in charge of saving another person life from CPR to how to handle a spinal accident in the pool!Lifeguard ReCert: For previously certified lifeguards who received certification in the past year and needs to be recertified.Swim Instructor: Become a certified swim lesson instructor through Starfish Aquatics. Learn techniques to create lesson plans, be an effective instructor, and teach all abili-ties from ages 6 months to adult!

The SilverLiners Line DancingIntermediate & Advanced Line Dancing taught by long time instructor Thelma Kilpatrick. This group performs at local nursing and assisted living homes. Meets at Honey Bowen Bldg, for only $2 a session.

Become a Member of the Senior Center!Come be part of a place that provides life enrichment for adults 50 years of age and over, through opportunities that promote health, happiness and peace of mind in a safe, social and interactive environment. A quarterly newsletter is sent out to our members with updated trips and weekly activities. To become a member there is an annual $20.00 membership fee.

Springtime Made in the South- Join us on a trip to Savannah to an event filled with hand thrown pottery, jewelry, colorful purses, basketweaving, furniture, stained glass, and much more! February 13 Depart/Return: 9:30am -4 pm Cost: $12, plus cost of the meal

Tanger Outlets and Cheddar’s Restaurant- Come explore the brand new outlet stores in Pooler! Wide range of store options! We will take a break and eat at the delicious Cheddar’s Restaurant. May 29 Depart/Return: 8:30am - 5pm Cost: $10, plus cost of the meal
