2010 spring PLAYBOOKREGISTRATION INFORMATION1. Review all registration, transfer and refund information. Fillout registration form completely.2. Payment must accompany registration. Fax or phone-inregistration must be accompanied by a Visa, Discover orMastercard. Make check or money order payable to theHanover Park Park District.3. Members of households with a delinquent outstanding balanceshall not be allowed to register for park district programs orfacilities until said balance is paid in full.

RESIDENTS AND NON RESIDENT RATESA “resident” is defined as anyone living within the geographicalboundaries of the Hanover Park Park District. Residents inHanover Park Park District have priority for limited programs.You may be required to pay the non-resident fee even thoughyou live in Hanover Park because the boundaries of the villageare not the same as the boundaries of the Park District. Non-residents may register for programs for a fee that is 50% percenthigher than the resident fee or $15 over the resident fee,whichever is the smaller amount.

TRANSFERSRequests must be made in person. A $5 fee will apply formost transfers. A $10 fee will apply for Preschool andBefore/After School Club.

REFUND POLICYRefunds will not be granted for class(es) missed or forgotten.All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing. Formsfor refunds are available at the Park District office. Refundsrequested for a program prior to the start of a class will beassessed a $5 fee. A request for a refund after the programbegins, but prior to the 2nd meeting, will also be assessed anadditional prorated fee based upon the per class cost. NOrefunds will be granted after the 2nd class with the exceptionof a written medical excuse with the fee based on the proratedcost per class and the normal service fee. Refunds for trips willnot be given unless the trip is canceled by the Park District ora replacement is found to take the trip. A $10 refund feeapplies for Preschool and Before/After School Club programs.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCEThe Youth Activity Supplement Program (Y.A.P.), sponsoredby the Village of Hanover Park offers residents who experienceundue hardship, an opportunity to enroll their children inrecreation programs. For more information call Gina Mastro-Strickler at (630) 837-2468 (ext. 121).

ACCESSIBILITYThe Hanover Park Park District, Centre Court Athletic Cluband all other facilities are accessible and comply with A.D.A.standards. The elevator in the Community Center is accessiblefrom all three levels and is available for public use.

PROGRAM CODE OF CONDUCTTo ensure enjoyable and safe programs for all participants,the Hanover Park Park District has developed a behaviorcode. Participants shall:

Show respect to all participants and staffRefrain from using foul languageRefrain from causing bodily harmShow respect to equipment, supplies and facilities

Additional rules are developed for specific programs asdeemed necessary by staff. Failure to comply with this Codeof Conduct may result in removal from program or eventwithout refund.

All household information must be updated annually withHanover Park Park District residency documented with aPHOTO ID AND CURRENT UTILITY BILL. Continued proofof residency is necessary to guarantee that only residents livingwithin the Park District’s boundaries receive discounted rates.We sincerely appreciate your cooperation in assisting us tomaintain a current computer system database.

FIVE EASY AND CONVENIENT WAYS TO REGISTERONLINE REGISTRATION NOW AVAILABLE!

Online registration is now available through our website. If

you have not yet applied for online registration, a simple quick

visit to the Hanover Park Park District Community Center at

1919 Walnut, Hanover Park, Illinois is necessary to complete

the online registration form. Hanover Park Park District residents:

Please bring a photo ID and current utility bill documenting

your address within the boundaries of the Park District.

2. In Person

Register in person at the Park District office, 1919 Walnut

Ave., Hanover Park, during regular business hours. If you

have not already done so, you will be asked to complete a

Family Information Form. Hanover Park Park District residents:

3. Mail-In*

Prior to mailing in your registration, a Family Information

Form must be completed in person at the Park District office,

B I K E P A T H A N D T R A I L SM A I N T E N A N C E P O L I C YMother Nature will be allowed to take her own course ofaction with respect to our park district bike paths and trails,located at Community Park, Ahlstrand Park, Harbor ParkEast-West, Nautilus Park and Ranger Park. In Illinois there isno legal duty to clear paths or trails. But if an agency voluntarilytakes on the job, liability may be imposed if it is notdone properly.

The Park District Risk Management Agency (PDRMA)recommends that we limit path maintenance to a thoroughseason-ending inspection and documentation of irregularities,that we fix any hazards and that we post signs conveying themessage that users of the paths and trails do so at theirown risk.

Breakfast with the Bunny*Presented by The Hanover Park Lions Club

Hop over to the Park District and join the bunny for a pancake

breakfast. We will be serving a buffet style breakfast that

includes pancakes, sausage, coffee, orange juice and hot

chocolate. Play our egg-citing games and join in on the egg

hunt. The bunny will be available for pictures. The Allegro

Dance Companies from the Hanover Park School of Dance

will perform.

Children fees apply to ages 12 and younger. Register in

advance or pay at the door.

IAPD’s Kite FlyFly a kite and learn how to purchase the Illinois Association of

Park District’s Youth License Plate that benefits youth

programming at park districts. The park district will have hot

dogs, crafts, games and more for everyone to enjoy. Don’t

forget to stop by our marketing booth to learn more about

upcoming summer programs and Centre Court.

Dancing Princess PartyDress in your royal gown, put on your tiara, and bring your

mom (aunt, grandmother) with you to a Dancing Princess

Party. Snow White, Belle, Jasmine, Ariel and Cinderella will

greet you and teach you a perfect princess dance. Enjoy cake

and punch, a princess craft, music, and some surprises as

you meet and dance with other princesses. Great photo opps,

so be sure to bring your camera. Part of the proceeds will

support the Hanover Park School of Dance Company Allegro

costume collection. Register early, space is limited.

KID ROCK I & I IIf your child likes singing and dancing, then your child is Kid Rock bound! We’ll sing songs, dance to the beat,play with instruments, and explore fine and large motor skills. This creative music and movement program incorporates variouslearning styles as it combines imaginative play with fun, improves listening skills and encourages socialization. BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL CLUB (BASC) INFORMATIONDays Off A monthly calendar is sent home at the beginning of each month listing the days that the program is not in session. BASC doesnot run on days when school is not in session. If the school closes due to inclement weather the BASC will be closed. For latestart days, BSC will not be in session. For early dismissal, ASC will not be in session.

Registration InformationRegistration must be completed at the park district office. Phone-in registration will not be accepted. A parent handbook will begiven out at the time of registration. Included in the handbook is an Emergency Release Form. This form is due on the first dayof BASC.

Payment InformationTuition is based on the total number of days school is actually in session per year. Fees are divided into 9 equal payments forthe school year and will not be lower for those months that have fewer attendance days due to holidays (i.e. winter and springbreak). Participants are not charged for holidays and days off from school. A $15 non-resident fee will be charged at the timeof registration when applicable.

GYMKHANA YOUTH GYMNASTICSChildren develop body awareness, control, balance, flexibility and strength. These challenging classes use all the muscles in

Scoring, court positioning and basic tactics are covered and implemented into point playing drill situations.The ability to consistently serve into the correct box is a must for this level.SILVER EXCELLENCE: Ages 10-18 One LevelsStroke mechanics will be reviewed and refined in this class. Depth, power and simple spins are introduced into the playerʼsstrokes. Simple point construction and high percentage play are introduced so that the player is able to start formulatingpoint/match strategies.GOLD EXCELLENCE: Ages 11 - 18 One LevelStudents in this level should exhibit good stroke mechanics. Lessons will involve more complex drills, self-feeding drills andgrooving of various shots and skills. Consistency in all shots is a must. Match play in a league is necessary if the studentdesires to move to the Satellite level.HIGH SCHOOL EXCELLENCE: Ages 14-18 One LevelsThis is a fast track class for high school aged participants who have advanced beyond the High School level I class.TOP GUN: Ages 10-18 One LevelThis program is a torunament prep program and is for highly motivated and highly intense top level players only. The QuickStart Tennis play format is designed to helpchildren find success from the very first swing. QuickStartTennis appropriately scales down all aspects of regulationtennis—including equipment, court dimensions, and scoring—so that the game becomes specifically tailored to their ageand size. The format is broken out into two age groupings, forchildren ages 10-under and for those who are 8-under, similarto models used successfully in other youth sports (such asyouth baseball). Level II is for students who have experiencedthe QuickStart format. This class is offered at a reduced ratecompared to other JUNIOR RIPPERS: Ages 11-13 Three LevelsLevel I is for the true beginner. Level I focuses on the properstroke mechanics with an emphasis on being able to get fullcourt groundstrokes in the court. Level II is for the advancedbeginner. Students continue to work on mechanics with aheavier emphasis on getting the serve in play. Level III is forthe intermediate that can get serves in and play out slow tomoderate paced points. The next step after this is to enterout Junior Excellence Program.HIGH SCHOOL: Ages 14-18 One LevelThis is a beginner/advanced beginner class only. Students inthis class are fast-tracked to learn the basics of all strokes.Students are expected to work hard to advance to our JuniorExcellence Program. THE TRIPLE WHAMMY TRAININGThis training focuses on the trouble spots that women in their40ʼs and 50ʼs face: gaining body fat in the torso area (backof the arms, back, and belly). For this age group bodycomposition is changing due to hormones, a slowing metabolismdue to a decrease in muscle mass, and body fat increases.Thereʼs two training programs to pick from based on yourneed, time, and what you want to focus on. The packagesare a two week program.

Package 1 consists of training the whole body three hours aweek with the trainer and committing to three cardio workoutson your own: for a member $216 (reg. $240) and for a nonmember $259 (reg. $300).

FACILITY RENTALSPark District facilities are ideal for parties, receptions, or private gatherings and are available for rental when park programs arenot scheduled. Payment and deposit must be made in advance to the Park District office. To make arrangements or for moreinformation, call the Park District office at (630) 837-2468. PICNIC & PAVILION RENTALSPicnic permits and pavilion rentals will be available on a first come, first served basis beginning April 1 and ending October 31. For groups of 100 people or more, a special request will be required and may result in an increased deposit. For additionalinformation or to apply for a picnic permit, please call the Park District office at (630) 837-2468.

Fax or phone-inregistration must be accompanied by a Visa, Discover orMastercard. Make check or money order payable to theHanover Park Park District.3. Members of households with a delinquent outstanding balanceshall not be allowed to register for park district programs orfacilities until said balance is paid in full.

RESIDENTS AND NON RESIDENT RATESA “resident” is defined as anyone living within the geographicalboundaries of the Hanover Park Park District. Residents inHanover Park Park District have priority for limited programs.You may be required to pay the non-resident fee even thoughyou live in Hanover Park because the boundaries of the villageare not the same as the boundaries of the Park District. Non-residents may register for programs for a fee that is 50% percenthigher than the resident fee or $15 over the resident fee,whichever is the smaller amount.

TRANSFERSRequests must be made in person. A $5 fee will apply formost transfers. A $10 fee will apply for Preschool andBefore/After School Club.

REFUND POLICYRefunds will not be granted for class(es) missed or forgotten.All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing. Formsfor refunds are available at the Park District office. Refundsrequested for a program prior to the start of a class will beassessed a $5 fee. A request for a refund after the programbegins, but prior to the 2nd meeting, will also be assessed anadditional prorated fee based upon the per class cost. NOrefunds will be granted after the 2nd class with the exceptionof a written medical excuse with the fee based on the proratedcost per class and the normal service fee. Refunds for trips willnot be given unless the trip is canceled by the Park District ora replacement is found to take the trip. A $10 refund feeapplies for Preschool and Before/After School Club programs.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCEThe Youth Activity Supplement Program (Y.A.P.), sponsoredby the Village of Hanover Park offers residents who experienceundue hardship, an opportunity to enroll their children inrecreation programs. For more information call Gina Mastro-Strickler at (630) 837-2468 (ext. 121).

ACCESSIBILITYThe Hanover Park Park District, Centre Court Athletic Cluband all other facilities are accessible and comply with A.D.A.standards. The elevator in the Community Center is accessiblefrom all three levels and is available for public use.

PROGRAM CODE OF CONDUCTTo ensure enjoyable and safe programs for all participants,the Hanover Park Park District has developed a behaviorcode. Participants shall:

Show respect to all participants and staffRefrain from using foul languageRefrain from causing bodily harmShow respect to equipment, supplies and facilities

Additional rules are developed for specific programs asdeemed necessary by staff. Failure to comply with this Codeof Conduct may result in removal from program or eventwithout refund.

All household information must be updated annually withHanover Park Park District residency documented with aPHOTO ID AND CURRENT UTILITY BILL. Continued proofof residency is necessary to guarantee that only residents livingwithin the Park District’s boundaries receive discounted rates.We sincerely appreciate your cooperation in assisting us tomaintain a current computer system database.

you have not yet applied for online registration, a simple quick

visit to the Hanover Park Park District Community Center at

1919 Walnut, Hanover Park, Illinois is necessary to complete

the online registration form. Hanover Park Park District residents:

2. In Person

Register in person at the Park District office, 1919 Walnut

have not already done so, you will be asked to complete a

Prior to mailing in your registration, a Family Information

Park, IL 60133. Registration for Preschool, Before and After

School Club and youth sports must be made in person.
