Spring House

Designed the spring house for a family with “a lot of children and not much money.”

Completed the plans in 1952 which was an unconventional passive solar “hemicycle” design ; which made it difficult to find a builder.

Some exterior features of Mr. Wrights design were not completed because of additional costs including a terrace wall and reflecting pool.

By December of 1954 the Spring House was complete and the Lewis family moved in.

Frank Lloyd Wright died in 1959 , but never visited the property.

Spring House was placed on the National Register of Historic Places February 14, 1979.
