FOUNDATION MISSION

The DSC Foundation is a direct support organization of Daytona State College founded in

1974.

Its purpose is to provide financial assistance to students as well as funding for faculty, programs, and capital support. It fills the critical needs that

are beyond the scope of the college’s regular budget.

FOUNDATION HISTORY

• The Daytona State College Foundation is a not-for-profit, Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3) corporation to serve as a direct support organization of the College.

• It was formed in 1974 and remains exclusively to benefit the educational endeavors of the College.

• The Foundation embraces the concept of the College mission as adopted by the District Board of Trustees and has provided financial assistance to students, as well as funding for critical needs, that are beyond the scope of the College's budget, which directly or indirectly benefits students.

• Management of Foundation affairs is vested with a self-perpetuating Board of Directors from the community that the College serves. Directors receive no compensation for their services.

FINANCE & INVESTMENT

• Invest and manage the Foundation’s financial assets according to established policy;

• Recommend investment and spending policy to the Board;

• Determine annual amounts available for scholarships and program support.

• Review the investment policies every year or if needed when the markets change radically
