ROCOPinot NoirAmazing price for a Willamette Valley Pinot from Rollin Soles, the long-time winemaker for Argyle, and now an owner of ROCO (pronounce Rock-o). This is the ripe 2014 vintage, it shows a mix of strawberry and darker plum fruit with a backbone of medium acidity and tannin. This is the finest Pinot for $15 I’ve seen in years.

Make a double or triple batch of these meatballs and stash them in the freezer for easy weeknight dinners. Add a big Greek salad, or tuck them into pitas with tzatziki, tomato and lettuce for a complete meal.
Ingredients1 cup onion finely chopped2 large garlic cloves minced½ teaspoon salt; pepper to taste1 teaspoon dried oregano3 teaspoons fresh mint or 1 teaspoon dried¼ cup fresh parsley¼ teaspoon dried cumin¼ teaspoon cinnamon1 pound ground lamb1 cup fine fresh bread crumbs (or dry toast that has been finely chopped)1 large egg beaten lightly
Directions1) Pre-heat oven to 400˚.
2) Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
3) Make meatballs using one rounded teaspoon of meat mixture. Roll between hands then place on an ungreased shallow baking pan.
4) Bake meatballs in upper third of oven for 15 minutes or until golden and cooked through.
Serve with Tzatziki and enjoy!
