Dock Mennonite Academy inspires students to lead lives of purpose in our community and the world. Dock integrates faith, academic excellence, and life-enriching opportunities for students ages three through Grade 12. The Touring Choir ignites a passion for service to others through music, as evidenced by these comments from Touring Choir alumni: “I constantly connect songs to occurrences in my life, and being able to learn more songs in this group was a blessing. The choir has become a family.” “I have seen God in and through the music we have sung, His spirit of joy and truth and healing flowing from our voices to the hearts of those who came to hear us sing. I saw Him in the churches and cathedrals we sang in—the high and wide spaces echoing back our voices, reminding us of how BIG God is.” “I like the way Ms. Grimes connects with the text of the songs we sing. We don’t just sing songs because they sound nice, but because they resonate with something deeper within us all.” In addition to igniting students’ passion for music, Dock’s Touring Choir provides an opportunity for members to strengthen relationships with peers and deepen their faith in Christ. The blend of voices in this auditioned group of juniors and seniors expresses love for our Creator. Ms. Emily Grimes gives excellent leadership to our high school music program, including the Touring Choir. Her passion for music and the growth of our students is inspiring to our school community. At Dock Mennonite Academy, we believe God has called us to inspire students to lead lives of purpose through academics, athletics, and the arts. Yet our highest calling is to help students grow in God’s likeness, and we praise God for the opportunity to pursue that calling every day across our two campuses. — Dr. Conrad Swartzentruber, Superintendent Spring 2019 Touring Choir Itinerary March 17 Towamencin Mennonite Church, 9 a.m. March 24 Fairview Village Church of the Nazarene, 8:25 a.m. March 29-31 Carnegie Hall, New York City April 7 Souderton Mennonite Church, 9:30 a.m. April 12-14 Mennonite Schools Council Choir Festival, Lancaster, PA April 28 Salford Mennonite Church, 9:00 a.m. May 19 Franconia Mennonite Church, 10:15 a.m. May 22 Dock Spring Concert, 7:00 p.m. June 2 Blooming Glen Mennonite Church, 9:30 a.m. Zion Mennonite Church, 7:00 p.m. June 8 Dock Commencement, 6:00 p.m. Touring Choir support provided by Touring Choir Spring 2019 GRADES NINE to TWELVE CAMPUS 1000 Forty Foot Road Lansdale, PA 19446 215.362.2675 Christopher Dock was a compassionate 18 th century Mennonite educator who pioneered a dramatic shift in the philosophy of teaching by integrating academics and faith.
