SWWC is committed to providing its member school districts training and guidance with crisis prevention and intervention techniques.
SWWC has 11 Certified CPI Instructors who provide 7 different trainings to meet the needs of the SWWC Subscribing Districts
SWWC ELCs have 5 trainers (one per site) to provide trainings to ELC and district staff as well as crisis processing after restrictive procedures
Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI): The Nonviolent Crisis Intervention program focuses on providing the best Care, Welfare, Safety and Security to staff members and those in their care. The emphasis is on prevention, de-escalation and the use of physical intervention as a last resort when an individual presents danger to self or others. To help ensure consistent, ongoing training to districts, SWWC has implemented a comprehensive training framework. Member districts are provided:
● clear and consistent training and standards according to CPI guidelines● one-on-one support and consultation via phone, email and occasional site level visits● record retention of course completion
