Other celebrations…

Ella McLean with her piano award. She received it for performing a short piano piece at the North Wales Music Tuition Show in Mold last week. Ella

also performed beautifully to us in worship today.

The girls above danced "The Musicals" on Sunday 22 March at Christleton High School, raising money for Leukaemia Reasearch. They were all fantastic:

Scarlett, Aoife, Lucy, Amy, Heidi, Katie, Kaya, Holly, Scarlett, Isobel And Tallulah.

North of England Football Champions! As you will have probably heard, we had more footballing success last week with the football team winning the North Of England small schools football tournament. This competition featured a variety of teams representing their counties. We all had a brilliant day in Newcastle at the tournament. Many thanks to the parents and families that came along to support. We are so proud of the team and are looking forward to going onto the national finals in June. Good bye Mr Coates We also say good bye to Mr Coates this week who has been working in the Wrens class since January. I know that the staff and children have really enjoyed Zack being part of the school and he has taught some lovely lessons. We wish him well for the remainder of his training at Mickle Trafford and especially for starting his first teaching job in Frodsham in September.

Church Service next week Don’t forget that it is the end of term Easter service at St Oswald’s Backford next Wednesday starting at 2:30pm. All parents are welcome to attend. Your children will be travelling there by coach and, as usual, we would like you to collect them from church at 3:15pm. Please return your permission slips if you have not already done so Easter Family Bingo So far we have 29 people attending the PTA Bingo event next Wednesday at 6pm. Realistically we need to have at least 50 to make this worthwhile running. It promises to be a really fun family event, a lovely opportunity for parents to spend some time in school with their children, so please ensure you get your slips returned by this Monday so that we can make a decision. Parents Evening This was really well attended and we hope you found it helpful, and also a celebration of your child’s work. My thanks go to the teachers who put a considerable amount of work into preparing for parents evening. Easy fundraising You may have seen now that the easy fundraising total has exceeded £500. This is a great result and literally is money for nothing. We have 41 supporters signed up so far but no new ones for quite some time. Please consider signing up, the site really is easy to use and it is all at no extra cost to you. There is a link on the school website which will take you directly to the page.
