R&JLove plays a major role in all our lives, but as Shakespeare knew too well, does not always guarantee a fairy-tale ending. Set across three different eras, and telling three different versions of events, Expressions Dance Company’s R&J turns the classic story of Romeo and Juliet on its head, cutting to the essence of what is real, human and inevitable. Winner of Outstanding Achievement in Choreography at the 2012 Australian Dance Awards, R&J reinforces the notion that love – no matter what age you are, or what era you live in – is eternal, and its power, everlasting. Presented by Rockhampton Regional Council. Part of the 2013 See It Live Theatre Season.

Bal let RevolucionWhat happens when some of the world’s most talented classical and contemporary dancers perform to the infectious rhythms of Latin-America and the number 1 hits from Usher, Shakira, Beyonce, Enrique Iglesias, J-Lo, Prince, Chris Brown to name just a few? The result is an explosive, intensive, sensual andimpressively athletic performance, full of raw energy with a distinctly Cuban flavour. Ballet Revolución – the hit international dance company – mixes the dynamics of contemporary dance, brilliant ballet, powerful street dance and hip hop giving the world ‘Ballet with Attitude’.

360 Al lstarsBMX Flatlanders, breakdancers, percussion artists, basketball freestylers, live looping, and a Roue Cyr artist are all part of the extreme talents that make up 360 Allstars, to be performed at the Pilbeam Theatre in July.360 Allstars is described as being a ‘mindblowing feast for the senses’ and includes spectacular stage acts, live music and stunning AV projections, resulting in a one of a kind ‘urban circus’. The production replaces traditional circus art forms with contemporary performance styles. Instead of acrobats there will be break dancers, instead of a juggler there will be a basketball freestyler, and instead of a unicyclist there will be a BMX rider and more.
