PRESIDENTS CORNER

Greetings I would like to thank Dave and Alyce Herrera, and everyone else who contributed to the fine Appreciation Dinner. The food was great and the kitchen/dining staff did an outstanding job. Mr. Robert Fahey was awarded the Life Membership award for his many years of service as the Rifle & Pistol Range Chairman. He has done an outstanding job both as that chairman and his many years of service on the Board of Directors. Mr. Ed Ahrens was recognized as the Sportsman of the Year for his 17 years on the Board of Directors and his many years of service as Range Master & Range Officer on the rifle and pistol range. Mr. Daniel Carden was awarded the Stu Mullins Award for his many years of service at the Action Range. These gentlemen were recognized for their outstanding service to the Club, but it should also be said that the Club could not function without all of the ladies and gentlemen who volunteer their time and effort to keep the organization running: my thanks to all. As you may have noticed the containers have been painted. I would like to thank Steve Watson for a job well done, and all of the members who assisted him by moving items stored next to the containers. Items should not be stored on the roof tops or next to the container. Please place your things inside if possible. In the last message, I mentioned that the Sportsman Bulletin costs the Club approximately $19,000.00 a year to print and mail, and the bulletin is available on the RR&GC website for your viewing at any time. I advised that you would receive a postcard with this mailing giving you the opportunity to opt to continue to receive a copy of the bulletin by mail, or discontinue the mailing, and read the bulletin on line. I was not able to get the postcards printed in time, and therefore you will receive them with the next bulletin. Please look at the web site if possible and consider your options. Generally the schedule of events is the primary thing members are interested in, and that is online at the RR&GC site and the Richmond Hotshots web site. If you feel the web fulfills your needs, please opt for that, but if you want to continue to receive the hard copy, you can. Please return the post card, as they will aid in surveying the memberships’ opinion on this matter. If not returned the mailing to the address will stop. This will be repeated in the next bulletin. We were informed that the breakfasts, dinners, and raffles will resume shortly, so keep an eye out for the dates & times. In the meantime enjoy life at the Club. Best Regards, Ron Gunar President of the RR&G Club
