Elections and Handover

•Advice on holding your elections can be found on the Warwick Sport website.

•Handover is SO IMPORTANT . Consider:•Hard documents•Shadowing•Individual meetings (e.g. President with President)•Old Exec with New Exec meetings

•A Handover Pack will be sent round to you over the next week, and should be a concise and informative starting place for a handover.

•Remember to consult the checklist for things such as handing in your NEW EXEC form to the Warwick Sport Office. The New Exec won’t have exec privileges until you do.

New Exec Training and Impact Training

•SSE Training in Term 3 – sessions will be posted on the web at: •http://www.warwicksu.com/societies/exec/sse/

•Also, towards the end of this term (probably week 9) there will be a number of sessions aimed specifically at preparing your new Exec for what lies ahead!

•The aim is that this will give new Execs the Summer to think about developments and improvements to your club.

•Sessions will include Managing Your Money (for Treasurers), Basic Club Training and additional sessions such as making your webpage look awesome! The latter is really important as this is the first port of call for perspective members.

•Expect an email with more information on these sessions later in the term.

Sponsorship

•Term 3 is an excellent time to be approaching potential sponsors.

•The Warwick Sport website (Exec Information) offers advice and a step by step guide to putting together a sponsorship proposal. It also tells you who to speak to on the topic.

•Documents should be no longer than 2 Pages.•Start with a brief overview of your sport if it is less well known (eg Lacrosse)•Then give a brief overview of your club (Members, Activities, Success)•Then briefly detail what any sponsorship funds would be spent on•Then with what you can offer (Kit, Website, Talks to Club, Banners)

So you own money accounts:

•Trying to work out exactly what needs to still be paid for

•What is in the wrong line

•Making sure you have planned to get revenue in to cover your contributions and to match up any expenditure you still want to make. Subs, Fundraisers, Auctions, anything which can raise a bit of cash

•And leaving yourself a buffer for unexpected expenditure
