Brandon Matthews Currie Trophy for the Outstanding Sporting Achievement of the Year at a World Sporting Event in Water Polo
This year Brandon receives the Currie Trophy for his outstanding achievements in Water Polo.
In August, Brandon represented New Zealand at the FINA World Men’s Junior Water Polo Championships in
Belgrade, Serbia. This international tournament is held every two years for players under the age of 20.
During the tournament Brandon scored a goal against one of the top teams, Serbia. New Zealand finished
18th in the tournament.
Brandon also represented New Zealand in the 2017 New Zealand Youth/Born 2000 Men’s European Water
Polo Tour which competed in Montenegro and Croatia earlier this year.
Robert Tarling Trophy for Junior Sportsman of the Year
Robert receives the Trophy for Junior Sportsman of the Year for his outstanding achievement and
involvement in sport. Robert is a natural athlete who excels at any sport he chooses. This year he has

Brandon receives the Robertson Cup for Senior Sportsman of the Year for his outstanding commitment and
involvement in sport. Brandon has been an outstanding role model - both for his teammates and the players
he coaches. This year he has represented the College in:
