Sportswear or active wear is clothing, including footwear, worn for sport or physical exercise. Sport-specific clothing is worn for most sports and physical exercise, for practical, comfort or safety reasons.

Specialized garments include wet suits, jerseys and pants. Sportswear is also at times worn as casual fashion clothing.

Sportswear design must consider the thermal insulation needs of the wearer. In hot situations, sportswear should allow the wearer to stay cool; while in cold situations, sportswear should help the wearer to stay warm.

Sportswear should also be able to transfer sweat away from the skin, using, for example, moisture transferring fabric.

What is Sports Wear/Active Wear

Simply, it creates possibilities. With sublimation, you can use any color, gradient, font or effect that you can think of, design across seams, under arms, along waist- bands... all while maintaining the wicking properties of your jersey as you play hard on the battle field.

Sublimation is a process whereby ink is actually burned into the fiber of the garment, as opposed to the way ink is caked on top of the material in conventional silk screening. The design is first rendered digitally on a computer. Special papers are then printed with the design, and are placed face down in a heating press over white fabric.

As heat presses, it will print logo or text on the fabric and add your flair to the design.

Sublimation process in athletic clothing

Sublimation apparel prints fabric (and other substances) that provides the best quality, most durable printing option.  In sublimation, the inks are fused into the fabric as opposed to sitting on top of the baric such as in inkjet or screen printing.

The process not only gives fabrics a softer touch after the printing, but it is also very durable.

The color remains strong in outdoor lighting and after extensive washing so it’s the ideal process for sportswear and school clothing.

It is best for athletic clothing because you can easily incorporate club and sponsor names or logos into your design without the added expense and bulk of embroidered logos. This is great for team and premiership shirts and all school apparel.
